Summary

A three-year-old girl is snatched from a beach. Nobody heard a sound. Nobody saw a thing.

Rosie Gilmour's much-needed holiday is cut short when the abduction story breaks and she's sent to cover it. Her instincts tell her something's wrong: such a crime must surely have witnesses, and the girl's mother's story doesn't add up.

With a child's life at stake, Rosie must dig deeper into the seedy depths of the area, making dangerous enemies.

As she closes in on the truth, she realises the penalty for missing this particular deadline could be her own demise.

Critic reviews

"Having been glued to the opening chapters of To Tell The Truth, I applaud her ... this is a social issue that's worth discussing" (Scottish Sun)
"The book is as perfectly paced and neatly plotted as any Ian Rankin novel, with a wide appeal for both male and female readers" (Daily Mail).

Topic is disturbing, story good & performance A+

It is a tough and sad topic, however, even though it is a work of fiction I feel I need to reminded that such things happen. Story is well written and the performance is very good.

I am so pleased to have discovered Anna Smith

This is the second novel by this author that I have read, I am totally gripped by her stories, I love her characters - they are compassionate and intelligent.

The story is full of intrigue - and I found that I could hardly put it down, finished in one day.

There were some 'nasty bits', but these were dealt with by Rosie and her 'team'. I really enjoyed this and will soon be downloading book 3 in the series.

Riveting

Another fantastic read from Anna Smith. I never tire from reading her books. The plots are very believable and topical. Rosie Gilmour is a heroine, who will let nothing get in the way of getting the scoop.

OK so I tried book two...

Stories are good narration isn't the best.... I know we all read in different ways so I'm trying to ignore the bits that just seem 'off'... where there should be more drama etc I just try to listen to the words and add the effect myself... maybe as the books progress the narration will feel more natural.... Worth a listen but maybe, personally, reading them for me would be better.... unfortunately thats not an option for me right now but the audible books are keeping me entertained nonetheless
