Publisher's Summary

The only thing worse than a used car salesman showing up on your doorstep is finding one dead.

After a scandalous divorce, Elise returns from the big city to her southern home town only to trip over the body of the town playboy. He leaves behind a heap of trouble that includes missing money, missing pets, and mourning lovers, and the suspects just keep piling up.

Caught in her own drama, Elise is quick to wash her hands of it, until her best friend, Lavina, winds up as the number one suspect.

Can Elise clear her friend's name without ending up as the next one dead? Or are her friendship blinders keeping her from seeing the truth?

    "Great Book!"

I really enjoyed this book by CeeCee James! You know how they say time flies when you're having fun? Well, they are right! Time flew by as I listened...I couldn't believe it! It is a bit over 4 hours, but it seemed like an hour. The story line moved along quickly, and I felt like I've known the characters forever. It is a really fun book, and I definitely recommend it to those who love cozy mysteries!! I already got another audiobook from this author and I cannot wait to start it!

The narrator did a good job with the voices and accents. She has a sweet voice with good projection. At first I thought she talked a bit slow, but then as the story picked up, I was fully engaged. I haven't ever listened to an audiobook on anything except normal speed, but because this is a fun, relaxing read that doesn't take too much deep concentration, I could have given it a try. In the end, I am glad that I didn't because I didn't want it to end!

    Thank you for reading!

I loved this book. It was so fun and full of southern charm. The author kept me guessing. I had no idea who did the murderer was. Great read!

    "Good murder mystery"

Southern girl comes back home from big city. Hair salon gossip and quirky friends all add to the fun.

    "loved it"

I had never heard of CeCe James , but I am very happy to have stumbled across her book. Story line was very good, light clean and interesting. I have already looked for boojs by her. Ialso loved listening to the narrator . The combination of both CeCe James and Jennifer Groberg is absolutely awesome, so yes I loved it!!

    "Not for me"

I forced myself to get through the first few chapters. It's not that the book was bad, it was just predictable and formulaic. The characters were flat and I didn't feel the need to finish it.

"Not as good as I hoped"

The story was okay but no where near as good as I hoped it would be from the reviews. The narrator made it hard to listen to the story and I stopped it less than halfway through.

The story line kept you guessing and appreciated how the main character had grown within herself. I will want to listen
    to your other books.

"Can't wait to listen to the next one"

I absolutely love love this book. I'm listening to it on audible. I love Elise and her friend Lavina. I also love Elise and Brad. Basically I love the whole book. It's light, I find some humor and of course there's a murder that our dog-walker Elise needs to solve when Lavina is suspected of the murder. I can't wait to read the next one.
