Publisher's Summary

And the best performance as a skull goes to...

After years of hiding in the Thackery family house, Sid the skeleton is delighted to finally have his moment in the spotlight. He's starring in a high school production of Hamlet. Well, not so much starring in as being a prop. At least part of him has a part - he's using his head to play Yorick of "Alas, poor Yorick" fame. Every day, Georgia Thackery's daughter, Madison, who's also in the play, brings in his skull, and every night, she takes him home....

Until one night when he's accidentally left at school - and hears the sounds of someone being murdered. But the next day, there's no body and no one seems to be missing.

Sid is not a numbskull - he knows what he heard. Georgia thinks he imagined it - until a week later when a body is found. Now Georgia and Sid will both need to keep their heads as they stick their necks out and play sleuth to catch the conscience of a killer....

    "Great, Lighthearted Fun."

This is the second book in the skeleton mystery stories. Very, very tongue in cheek in its concepts, but very enjoyable as a murder mystery novel.

This is just the right kind of lighthearted novel that you may wish to read if you are a murder mystery fan. It is not overly taxing but it is not by any means a simplistic tail. You will enjoy it immensely just as a relaxing read especially, if you have just finished a big novel and still wish to read but do not want to bog yourself down in A complex narratives.

I would however, advise that you read the books in order, so this is book 2, you really need to read book 1. Even though it will not be a great challenge to read them out of sequence, you will receive all the backstory if you read them in order.

    Enjoy!

"The Skeleton does a Sleepy Hollow"

Enjoyed this even more than the first book. The narration was good and the characters are really starting to flesh out (pun intended). As murder mysteries go this is fairly light hearted but covers some serious topics. I managed to figure out the murderer a lot sooner than in the first book, but it was still satisfying. Bring on book 3

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I found this book well written and very funny.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Skeleton Takes a Bow?

When Sid breaks into the cabin to rescue Madison.

What about Katina Kalin’s performance did you like?

I gave Katina Kalin 5 stars because she does an outstanding narration, has a lovely voice and catches even the most subtle of innuendo's. A very skilled narrator.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    A Skeleton worth knowing

    Any additional comments?

A great story with lots of humor and moves along at a good pace. A real attention keeper and original concept.

    "Humerous, Relaxing "Cozy""

I liked the first book in this series enough to buy the second one when it became available on Audible.

What makes this series unique for me is that one of the main characters is a skeleton named Sid who walks, talks, and has a Facebook page, but doesn't eat or breathe. The other main characters are regular human beings who accept Sid as normal part of their lives.

The plotting of the first book seemed more intricate and enjoyable to me. Even so, I like the main characters and the humor and liked this book. If there is a third book in the series I will read it.

This book started out ok but got off track about the skeleton part of the story and almost became a handbook for college professors with emphasis on the subject of tenure vs not. TMI

    "unexciting performance"

The story was good. but I am not sure what it would take to get this narrator excited. She would be a great golf announcer. in the future, if I get any more skeleton books, I will get them on Kindle. Her voice is very pleasant but too impersonal. I don't feel the emotional ties to the characters in her performance.

Once again I am pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this book. It has the right amount of humor, drama and action to make it a great cozy mystery. The characters are funny and engaging. The plot moves at a consistent pace with lots of plot twists. Sid is funny and the family dynamics ring true. This is a great story and a great series.

    "LOVE THIS SERIES"

This series is a fun romp as seen through the eyes of a skeleton. It is cleverly written full of mystery and fun. It is not a "deep" read which is something we all need once in a while. I hope you give it a chance next time you need a lite read!

"Fun and made me want to keep reading."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend it. I never thought I would read a book where one of the characters is a skeleton but it was entertaining. I liked it that the writer didn't need to make up ways that explained how a skeleton could walk and talk. Somehow she wrote it so you just accepted it. I found characters that I could like and that's always important to me.

What did you like best about this story?

The humor and the connection between the characters.

What does Katina Kalin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I realized half way in that I just accepted Sid's voice just like the human characters! The cadence of his voice was steady and perfect for who he was. All the characters were well read and appropriate. You could hear the age and gender differences and they were right on.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Funny bone friends till end!
