Summary

The powerful best-selling novel, now a major motion picture, of how a grief-stricken man's encounter with God changes his life forever. With 20 million copies sold worldwide, The Shack is an international best seller that explores life's toughest questions through the gripping story of one man's struggle to find answers to his suffering.

Mack's youngest daughter, Missy, was abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, still trapped in his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack. Against his better judgment, Mack arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon. What he finds there will change his life forever.

The Shack wrestles with the timeless question 'where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?' Mack's experiences when he faces up to his darkest nightmares will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as they did him. This is the kind of story you'll want to tell everyone about. Millions have discovered it already - now it's your turn.

This audiobook contains a bonus interview with the author.

A book for all people of faith and none!

I’ve now finished The Shack.
It’s the most wonderful, most moving, most heartbreaking and yet redeeming books I have ever read.
I have profound dyslexia and never read novels so I listened to the Audible version.
Thank God I was told about this book!

What an amazing story!

This book is not as other books. It is a tool, that is being used by the One Who, at the deepest level, inspired it. In the lifes of me and my wife, it brought a lot of confirmation of things in which we are at a different level of thinking than many of our friends and acquaintances. We would like to express our thanks to the Writer Wm. Paul Young, and the Narrator Roger Mueller.

a must read

I loved this book , it's an emotional, thought provoking read. I can see how so many people have been moved and changed the way they they think about their own relationship with God. although a work of fiction it felt real.

Rekindling your Faith

I read this book years ago, if you can accept God being played by a woman it’s truly enlightening. It made me question why I had given up on Jesus and religion. I have now been a practicing Christian for 4 years, I was so pleased to see it on audible. I downloaded it straight away, and have listened to it several times!

STUNNING ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Exceptional book. Written from the heart with love and warmth and a sprinkling of humour. My favourite part is when he meets Papa (God) for the first time ❤

If you are doubting... you won’t regret it

I loved everything about this book. Paints a picture about God and life that is so painfully necessary. I would recommend this book to anyone that was able to understand language. This is by far the best book I have ever purchased and this comes from someone that has had an obsession with books since age 7. Really... unbelievable.

Heart wrenching and thought provoking!

This is an amazing story! It has such strong human elements of love, disappointment, anger, loss, and gain. One of the most, if not the most captivating book I've read in a long while, listen to, to be more precise. The deep theological truths of God's love and grace is so well explained. Roger Mueller's reading and portrayal of the characters is flawless! I love the audio version so much that I bought the printed book as well! Highly recommended.
