Among the supporting cast of this thrilling eight-part serial are Mary Wimbush, James Thomason, John Bennett, Jeffrey Segal, June Tobin, David March, Trevor Martin and members of the BBC Drama Repertory Company.
Steed and Dr. Keel return to action in these four re-creations of classic lost episodes. 'Hot Snow'. Written by Ray Rigby, adapted by John Dorney. In this collection of short stories, the Saint intervenes to teach a motley bag of criminals the error of their ways. Crooked financiers, bookies, fake inventors, dodgy bankers, dealers in pornography, unethical businessmen, murderers, thieves and liars - all will come to regret the day their actions caught the Saint's attention.
Leslie Charteris was born in Singapore and moved to England in 1919. He left Cambridge University early when his first novel was accepted for publication. He wrote novels about the Saint throughout his life, becoming one of the 20th century's most prolific and popular authors.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is full of humor, wit, and action. Telfer doesn't just read the words but acts out the scenes with accents. His Saint sounds smooth as silk.
What other book might you compare The Saint Intervenes to and why?
The other Saint books. These are the best of the Saint books in that Charteris was obviously having a grand time writing them in the 1930s.
Any additional comments?
