Summary

Gabrielle is sitting in an apartment in Manhattan, watching the clock. Her daughter has been kidnapped, she's shot and killed a man, and is trying to negotiate with the kidnapper. He wants the October List, and he wants money. The doorbell rings...

That is the end of Gabrielle's story, and the first chapter of the novel. The next chapter is the scene which came before, and what follows is what happened before that.

Had to buy the book too

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was a fascinating story told from finish to start and every time I thought I knew what was happening I was surprised by the next twist in the tale. I had to buy the book in a physical form and re-read it as it made flipping back and forth to check things out much easier. I've bought it as a gift for a friend too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

They were all a bit nasty actually

What does Todd Boyce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I have both listened to it and read it and he made it very exciting

Any additional comments?

Can't recommend it too highly

Confusing at first but keep reading

Where does The October List rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not the best I have listened to but well read and eventually all makes sense

What did you like best about this story?

The ending

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Confused

Any additional comments?

I was going to stop listening after about 10 minutes but glad I kept going

Extra clever plotting

What did you like most about The October List?

A crime novel moving back in time seems
impossible but Deaver pulls it off.

What other book might you compare The October List to, and why?

Anything that starts at the end

Which character – as performed by Todd Boyce – was your favourite?

Gabriela

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me nervous for the characters; They were
all beautifully rounded

Any additional comments?

I always expect to enjoy a Jeffrey Deaver novel,
I love his feints but this is a masterpiece .... travellling
backwards through a crime novel & still being surprised
is a joy!

One of his best.

Confusing at first and I kept losing the plot!!! Gradually you become hooked and what a good hook it was.
