Entertaining Sherlock Holmes tale

This series of new Sherlock Holmes stories where he is joined by his daughter Lucy James are cleverly written and manage to retain the feel of the originals. This episode follows Holmes, Lucy and of course John Watson as they strive to ensure that Queen Victoria's jubilee isn't disrupted by terrorists.
I enjoyed the story and that there were several sub-plots which are eventually woven together to give an exciting finale. I did think that it could have been tightened up a little, I found my attention wandering at times and for me it could have been shortened by 30 minutes or so. There are also the usual 'Americanisms' scattered throughout the story which did grate with me and detracted a bit from my enjoyment, I also thought that the 'Cockney' accents lapsed at times into sounding a bit like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, again this slightly spoiled it for me. These couple of criticisms are why I have taken a star off, it could have been a 5 star rating.
I must emphasise that despite these criticisms I did enjoy listening to this audio book and I do recommend it.

Excellent

A great follow up in the Sherlock Holmes expansion. The adventures are in keeping with the original stories yet feel fresh and new and feel that the different approach is good.
