Summary

At the top of his class at Harvard Law, he had his choice of the best in America. He made a deadly mistake. When Mitch McDeere signed on with Bendini, Lambert & Locke of Memphis, he thought he and his beautiful wife, Abby, were on their way. The firm leased him a BMW, paid off his school loans, arranged a mortgage, and hired him a decorator. Mitch McDeere should have remembered what his brother Ray - doing 15 years in a Tennessee jail - already knew. You never get nothing for nothing. Now the FBI has the lowdown on Mitch's firm and needs his help. Mitch is caught between a rock and a hard place, with no choice - if he wants to live.

Wow! That was a surprise.

Any additional comments?

I bought this on a whim as I had just been listening to Steven Kings book “On Writing” where he describes The Firm as worth a reading.

OK think I, it’s on special offer at £5.99 and I could do with listening to a good thriller and that is exactly what I got. 48 hours and a couple of marathon listens and I complete the audio book.

I had to find out what happened next every step of the way. I know there are lots of clichés blah, blah, blah, but as pure entertainment it is great. Trash but good trash. There is a reason why this is one of the all-time bestselling paperbacks and I will give another of his books a try.

Great story

Loved the story. Read the book years ago and decided to listen. Shame thé narrator felt the need to give every sentence an exclamation mark. He should get lessons in narration.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book

I’ve listened to John Grisham’s entire catalogue and this is one of my favourites. The build up is enjoyable and the ending is pleasing. Everything summed up. Great work!

Started well but faded

Good narrator and the story started well but I was glad when it finished.

And the main character Mitch; very unlikeable

The Firm

I really enjoyed reeding this book. John Grisham is a brilliant author. His famous book is the Pelican brief. That is the next book for me to read.

Great book -

Keeps you thinking the whole way through. The ending could be a bit more detailed, it was built up a bit too much. Overall great!

Wow, this is amazing 🤩

Brilliant storyline, lots of twists and suspense, a great book 📕 and beautifully performed. I had never come across this or watched the movie, so this was a fresh delight. Highly recommended 👍

Very interesting suspenssful story

This was the first time I listened to an audiobook by John Grisham who with his knowledge of the legal profession wrote a very believable story. I found the narration irresistible

John Grisham does it again!

A well written good story. I loved the film. However, there is so, so much more in this book

Addictive and satisfying

This book kept me going over some long journeys and was a great travelling companion. It was much better than I thought it would be, great story and great narration.
