Summary

Six months ago Harry Bosch left the LAPD before they could fire him and then hired maverick defense attorney Mickey Haller to sue the department for forcing him out. Although it wasn't the way he wanted to go, Harry has to admit that being out of the game has its benefits.

Until Mickey asks him to help on one of his cases, and suddenly Harry is back where he belongs, right in the centre of a particularly puzzling murder mystery.

The difference is this time Harry is working for the defense, aiming to prevent the accused, Leland Foster, from being convicted. And not only does the prosecution seem to have a cast-iron case, but having crossed over to 'the dark side', as his former colleagues would put it, Harry is in danger of betraying the very principles he's lived by his whole career.

Read by the star of Bosch, Titus Welliver.

Enjoyable

Another well written book by Michael Connelly. I like the connection between Bosch and Haller and enjoyed the twists in the story, and how they all came together in the end.

Bosch Without A Badge!

Harry Bosch on the other side of the legal divide working without a badge, & with his brother, the Lincoln Lawyer!!

A great read. Harry doing what Harry does best, even without the protection of the badge. Proving that methodology and persistence always pays off! At least in Novels!

One of the better novels, largely because of the lack of formal procedural & political restraint, so therefore no back chatting, insubordination or devious manoeuvres on Harry's part!

A really good tale. Well read by the 'new' Bosch, even though I prefer the 'old' Bosch!

Enjoy!

Half a good detective story

This had me gripped until about halfway when the killers' motives and the silly connections began to unravel. Process and psychology of Bosch excellent, although the (now obligatory in American detective fiction) two dimensional relationship with his daughter was superfluous snd boring. Great voice but not one of his best in terms of story

Excellent, kept me on edge until the end

wasn't sure how this book would go, but it's one of the best, with Harry's internal turmoil making it very human.

Up to the mark

Really enjoyed this Connelly book. Bosch and Haller working together draws out their differences and adds just one more level of conflict. Great performance by Titus Welliver caps a very good plot.

Harry Fighting the other corner

Another excellent episode in the Harry Bosch series, really worth listening to, really untreated to where Harry's career will go next....

Superb

Engrossing an enjoyable thriller, which kept me interested all the way along. Thought the narrator did a good job. Recommend this audio book.
