Summary

An uprising looms.

A revenge demanded by Inca Gods.

A prophecy must be fulfilled.

In the Andes searching for a lost Inca city, Hiram Kane's team is infiltrated by two different terrorist factions seeking legendary Inca gold to fund strikes against their enemy. The expedition devolves into the deadliest of treasure hunts and a lethal race against time. When the lives of Kane's loved ones are threatened, it becomes personal.

Catholics versus Incans. Kane must defeat them both.

Win, and he'll prevent a new holy war.

Lose, and the ancient prophecy will unleash catastrophe the world over.

Worth a listen

I did enjoy this Audiobook, though not as much as The Tiger Temple. That said it is still worth a listen. The narration is excellent.

Amazing!

Personally, I don’t usually like audiobooks but I thought I would give it a try and I loved it! Kenneth Bryant reads at a good pace making the story easy to follow and the plot line just keeps on giving. Steven Moore writes with a brilliant cultural twist that any action thriller fan would be crazy to miss.

The Audiobook really brings the story to life.

This is the second book of Steven's I have listened to, both narrated by Kenneth. I have previously read the book so knew what was coming but Kenneth brought an extra layer to the story, as he did with the Samurai Code. The book itself is a brilliant adventure book where you never know which way the story is going and kept me hooked right up to the shock ending.

The audio book really brings the story to life and made the book that much more enjoyable. I can't wait for the third one to come out in audio now.

First class

Again, a fabulous story. A great pace, and loved that this adventure was longer than the others. So fitting for the highlight adventure that Hiram is undertaking. The narrator Kenneth is also amazing and deserves to be recognised for his work on the audible tracks.

Baskerville Book Reviews

This book just doesn’t know when to stop. At the time of writing this, I have 1 hour and 14 minutes left. I lost interest about half an hour ago, it felt like things should have been wrapped up but it just keeps going on and on and on.

While the story is compelling and interesting, many of its plot points are predictable as all hell. This is due in part to the author outright stating the intentions of characters, other times spoiling future events by outright saying things about what’s going to happen. Finally, there’s the writing that’s predictable in the usual way.

I’ve been listening at 2.05x speed and I feel as if I’ve spent the last week of my life listening to this audiobook. It’s unbelievably slow. I really want to talk about what this book does right and that’s…… uhhhhh…. well, it’s a book.

To be honest, had I not grown a fondness for the protagonist in the first 2 books in this series, I’d DNF this and recommend against it. But I really like the protagonist. He has a good head on his shoulders and I find it kinda amusing that he somehow always finds himself in these dangerous situations and always comes out on top.

I like the narrator quite a lot. The only issue I take with his narration is how he speaks for the character in an accent, but his internal monologue is without the accent. When the character actually has lines, it’s off-putting because he suddenly sounds completely different than you’ve been hearing of him up to that point.
