Summary

The Sunday Times number one best seller: as addictive as a TV box set!

After a tough week, Tanya Kaitlin is looking forward to a relaxing night in, but as she steps out of her shower, she hears her phone ring. The video call request comes from her best friend, Karen Ward. Tanya takes the call, and the nightmare begins.

Karen is gagged and bound to a chair in her own living room. If Tanya disconnects from the call, if she looks away from the camera, he will come after her next, the deep, raspy, demonic voice at the other end of the line promises her.

As Detectives Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia investigate the threats, they are thrown into a roller coaster of evil, chasing a predator who scouts the streets and social media networks for victims, taunting them with secret messages and feeding on their fear.

Brilliant

Fantastic story, plenty of atmospheric goosebump moments. A really enjoyable, well narrated audiobook. Will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Great

Loved this book. The storyline was excellent and the tension throughout was palpable. Trying to guess who the killer was and his reasons for murdering the victims kept me on the edge of my seat. Well worth the credit. I also thought the narrator was perfect for the book.

I didn't expect to enjoy it as much!

The first few lines of listening to an American narrator (ONLY because I'm so used to british) was very strange, I was almost certain I was going to give up after 5 minutes being the stubborn idiot I am, but am I glad I didn't! It was like listening to a movie being narrated, the story was really good, kept me hooked!
The only thing I found a tiny bit irritating was a couple of the female voices. They were portrayed as very stereotypical trashy American young girl, which almost made them unlikeable, even when we should have totally been on their side being victims.
Overall very very pleased I stuck with it, and will be less judgy next time, ha!

intresting story but rushed ending.

Violent murders are committed. These are witnessed, via a video phone app, by someone who loved the victim. The murder taunts the viewers, giving them a chance to save their loves one....

Robert Hunter is again out to save the day.

I'm not sure this book is as good as the early ones in the series. I thought the ending g was far too rushed . Hence 4 not 5 stars.

Good as always

Genuinely didn’t see the killer in this one. Great story and really good performance. Love listening to these on long journeys but always find myself listening to more at home

A good find for me

this is the first book by this author that I've listened to. Bit much on the gory side a few times but I skipped few seconds if really too much, but otherwise a really really good story. Narrator was very good too. Will be looking out for more by Mr Carter, especially with the same narrator.
