Summary

Police procedural as it should be
Very good linear police procedural which is not trying to be anything else. Classic Connelly with enough twists and turns to hold interest. Although I have read most of the the Harry Bosch series over the years, this reminded me that I would enjoy going back for a listen this time. Dick Hill did a god narration job so shall look for him in the rest of the series and other books.

Fabulous book, great plot...next please!
Loved this, Bosch is a great character & the narrators wonderful deep voice adds a true grit that is so plausible it could be Bosch himself!
Plot & story exceptional as were the twists & turns, starting the second book in a few minutes....
Don’t hesitate get this book!

A little predictable
A comfortable fairly predictable detective book. I did enjoy it, but didn't find it gripping, and the end was dragged out a bit. I thought the ending was a bit guessable too.

Fast moving

Loving Harry Bosch Series
Good characters, story and the narrator is similar to the tv show but the books aren’t.
If you like a twisty turning book and a detective who’s not in the job for the pension - you’ll like Harry Bosch.

Excellent Story
Where does The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my first book by Michael Connelly and I really enjoyed this introduction to Harry Bosch, the story had some nice twists and turns as it went along. I will definitely continue with the series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1?
I don't want to spoil it for new listeners but I enjoyed the way the case was pieced together.
What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?
Dick Hill brought the characters to life and read well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book while driving over a week or so, it was really enjoyable and I always put it on as soon as I started my journey.

Very well written!
Original, well developed and mastered with genius. Harry Bosch is simply, as the story says: "An outsider doing an insider's job." Enough said.
