Summary
Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, is the most dangerous city in the world. And when a mission to break the local cartel’s grip goes wrong, Isabella Rose, the Angel, finds herself on the wrong side of prison bars. Fearing the worst, Isabella plays her only remaining card...
British agent Vivian Bloom is determined to be the first to reach her, certain she will lead him to other operatives he’s under pressure to hunt down. But US agents are circling too. And with the shadowy Prometheus group pulling the strings, Isabella knows that she and her mentor, the Asset, are living on borrowed time…
The Assassin is the fourth part in a continuing story involving Isabella Rose that also includes Act I: The Angel, Act II: The Asset and Act III: The Agent.

The Assassin disappointing.
I am sorry to say that I found the book disappointing this was due to the very poor narration, I did complete the story though nearly gave up on several occasions due to the narrator.

Terrible narration
The reader made the listening hard work and boring, shan’t be listening to any more of his work, good story poorly told!

Good story, annoying narrator
It's a roaring story that covers the background of Isabella Rose, spoiled by the narrator's inability to read more than a few words without pausing.
Ignoring the narration, the story is just as good as the John Milton series with potential to exceed. A bit akin to a female Bourne, she has her own agenda and is only slightly influenced by those around her.
Can't wait to read more from this series

Great story distracting narrator
An enjoyable story, unfortunately the narrator sounds unnervingly like Matt Berry playing Steven Toast - so much so that it becomes a difficult listen.

A Great Series
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the "Rose" books in the series and can't understand the criticism of the narrator, I think he has done a great job.
When will the next book in the series be available?

As good as the previous ones
A really addictive listen. Have already purchased the next one to hear more of the story x feel you get used to the narration with time

Robot performer
A good actor/narrator can read a telephone book and give it colour. In this case it is quite the opposite: although it gets minimally acceptable towards the end, the monotous rythm, nearly always ending with a higher pitch made the listen a torture. I can only save the dialogues, where this feature is less applied. I previously had the same problem with Paul Thornley... have they both gone to the same school? Or is it the current trend and I shall have to put up with it? Many of the Mark Dawson titles are read by David Thorpe. Why change?
