Detective stories don't get much better than these.. Stories to keep coming back to. again and again. Sherlock Holmes still stands tall in this genre.

The genius mind of sherlock Holmes works overtime in this fantastic collection. Performed masterfully by Merrison, I love Sherlock Holmes! These dramatisations are my favourite, so much fun to be had from 1 audible credit...

    "PERFECT SHERLOCK RADIO"

I have all of these BBC Radio Sherlocks each and every one of them as they should be, great Conan Doyle entertainment.

A full professional cast bring these stories to life taking you into the depths of Sherlock world, murder, mystery, suspense in full flow. Clive Merrison is the perfect radio Sherlock with Michael Williams doing justice to side kick Dr Watson. These two are a great match full of mirth and fun.

I enjoy listening to these shows over and over, each time as fresh and entertaining as the last.

"A classic that I return to time and time again."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a dramatised version of the classic work, I first heard this adaptation in the 90's on audio cassette and listened to it over and over again. The cast are excellent and the source material is respected. The production balances the dark side of the stories with the inherent humour to be found in many of the characters. The background sounds really create a 19th century London feel.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like the character of Dr Watson he balances the cold analytical nature of Holmes with his compassion. Also the Doctor's loyalty is unswerving he is always ready to assist Holmes in his adventures.

Have you listened to any of Clive Merrison’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all of the Sherlock Holmes stories with Clive Merrison and he always offers an good performance. He is an excellent character actor.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I have always enjoyed the first time we meet Sherlock's brother Mycroft. I enjoy the parts of the adventures that provide backstory for the main characters.

    Any additional comments?

As I said I have returned to these time and time again. And with the demise of audiocassette as a popular format I was happy to have the chance to rebuild my collection digitally.
