Summary
Psychotherapist Frieda Klein's home is her refuge until she returns to find it has become a disturbingly bloody crime scene. Beneath the floorboards the police have found the body of a man she had hired to help protect her.
When those closest to Frieda begin to be targeted, the picture becomes more skewed. Unless Frieda can find and stop whoever is threatening her friends and family, her love and loyalty could come at a truly fatal cost.

An old favourite
I loved this story. Much improved from the previous story. Also feel a new chapter may be possible. Here’s hoping. The narrator is excellent and the suspense around DR continues.

Another Great read
Loved it, Another excellent book, that race against time to save someone. Friedman's little group of close friends, I just love Joseph. But I need more, now we are at Sunday.... what next?

Such a brilliant series
I wish these books were longer! but honestly that's the only qualm I have with them?! I have torn through them in a matter of days, and yet they weave such a rich and vibrant tapestry of stories, characters, sub plots, unexpected twists, chilling mysteries, terrifying stomach drops and heartwarming friendships, I've fallen head over heels for them.
I would say the most similar book series I've read is the Sally Lockhart series by Pullman, except that this is set in modern London. there are some similar themes and characters, but that's absolutely to it's credit as I wanted something similarly engaging and well written.
I love the cast of characters, even the awful sister in law. Joseph is probably my favourite character, but I feel a longing to be more like Frieda.
I don't know if I can wait for my next credit to buy the final book of the series!! it's been left on such a cliffhanger (as all have been so far!). I'm sure I'll be excited to read more Nicci French after this too. I'm so pleased I found these books and I wish they were more widely talked about!

Cop Out
I love this series and listened to them all in order. Great plots and narration. I realise the titles have been successively days of the week- this one being the last day of one week. If this IS the final one - which I hope it isn't - then the ending is a cop out and Nikki French have not done a good end. They've fudged it. Or maybe they couldn't agree???!!!! I hope this is NOT the last we'll hear of Frida Klein.

Chloe....Chloe....Chloe....
How old is this girl? I’m sure she is 17 or 18 - not 14 years old. I wish someone really would see her off. The constant whining and moaning on and on... Still - she must have had a difficult time of it - the mother is half crazy too.

Good, but implausible
I enjoyed the book, and the narration. However the story seems pretty implausible in places. Why do the police not use modern forensic methods, or dogs for their searches? Would they really let a psychoanalyst sit in on suspect interviews? and many more unlikely aspects if the story. In spite of this, I enjoyed the book.

Another brilliant book
I listened to this series back to back and have enjoyed every book as much as the last. Such clever writing and plot twists. Can't recommend enough.
