An excellent book

I loved this book full of intrigue and unexpected twists. I was surprisingly pleased will be looking out for more in the Myles Monroe series. A very realistic believable WW2 storyline

Best Book of the Year

Would you consider the audio edition of Secrets of the Last Nazi to be better than the print version?

We thought the book was well read and equally as good as reading the book for yourself.

We purchased both the Audio and Paperback versions of “Secrets of the Last Nazi “ and recommended it for our local book club in France where we live. We both enjoyed the story and thought, as a debut novel, it was very good.

The historical facts were accurate, and a lot of research must have been undertaken. We thought the premise of the movements of the planets as an influence on world events was an excellent concept. The action of the novel was fast and furious which made it a real page turner, you really wanted to know how the next part of the story would unfold.

The book was generally well received by the book club with members looking forward to the next adventure of Myles Munro.

A gripping book

I absolutely loved this sequel. Twists and turns that are unexpected. I can recommend this book.

A bit of a boys own adventure!

Not as sophisticated as The Da Vinci Code. The stats and facts quoted May be true but I wasn't interested enough to follow up on any of them. The narrator was probably perfect for the book as he added to the feeling of a boys own adventure story!

Forgettable when finished, but you stay to the end

Would you try another book written by Iain King or narrated by Laurence Kennedy?

The narrator did a great job, some narrators are excruciating, this one must have been good as I did not notice him at all, which I believe is a good sign, he distinguished the characters well. The plot had a few holes, i.e. times when coincidence conveniently happen or characters hone in on the right deduction, out of a thousand of possibilities for no obvious reason. The overall major plot device stretched credulity, although depends if you are a scientist or an artist ( Zen and Art of MM etc). Popcorn, Dan Brown type stuff, which is entertaining, but ultimately forgettable.

What could Iain King have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Clever plot twist at end to counter plot device throughout as I was expecting, but never came.

What about Laurence Kennedy’s performance did you like?

Did a great job with characters, including female, which can sometimes jar when performed by a male narrator. Would listen to a book narrated by him again, maybe by this author, which I would give a second chance, albeit expecting the same.

Do you think Secrets of the Last Nazi needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Maybe the main character, but not the same subject or plot driver.

OK if you know what you are buying, i.e. guilty pleasure somewhat ludicrous adventure, for grownups who should know better.

Couldn't get past the first hour - check you can tolerate his character voices before buying

Poor

I very rarely give up on a book, but characters didn't behave as they were described, supposed to be intelligent but dim wits wouldnt act in the way they did. More Dan Brown than Dan Brown.

Bunch of plot holes serving paper-thin characters

What would have made Secrets of the Last Nazi better?

A believable plot that didn't keep making you say to yourself: ''Nonsense'' or ''Yes but why didn't they just...'' or even ''people don't behave like that''.

Would you ever listen to anything by Iain King again?

Not unless he raised his game. This title been compared with Dan Brown, rightly - and it's not a good thing.

Did Laurence Kennedy do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

Yes, but a bit pantomimey.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really.

Felt annoyed that i could have been spending my time listening to something better. But having spent the money....

Let's hope it really is the Last Nazi

Instantly forgettable story, unoriginal and a bit tedious. Wouldn't recommend listening to this in the car as you might fall asleep at the wheel.

avoid

truly some of the worst prose I have come across, clichéd and clunking. felt compelled to listen to the end with the hope that it would improve. it didn't.
