Summary

Secret Smile is a gripping psychological thriller from the top-ten bestselling author Nicci French.

You have an affair. You finish it. You think it's over. You're dead wrong....

Soon what began as an embarrassment becomes threatening - then even more terrifying than a girl's worst nightmare. Because this time Brendan will stop at nothing to be part of Miranda's life - even if it means taking it from her ....

loved this book

Really enjoyed this book, some of the characters and their voices were so infuriating that i couldn't wait to finish the story and hope they get what they deserve. Nicci french books are always gripping and well written. The narrator was good too, although i HATED Brendons voice!!

Rather irritating!

It was irritating how
1. The heroine was never believed even though everyone around her was dying
2. The policeman was even more irritating to the point of being unrealistic
3. She continued to put herself in stupid situations
4. The denouement was an anti climax. Without giving too much away - it’s perverting the course of justice

Predictable but a good listen

Liked the character in this book but was sometimes frustrating and a bit predictable. A good holiday listen/read

Very entertaining

This book was very entertaining and very well read. it will keep you questioning to the bitter end. There are heart breaking events. A bit disappointed about the jump to the conclusion as I feel it wasn't bridged properly but other than that I enjoyed it.

Compelling

Initially was very frustrated by the story line but found this to be a compelling listen .

Becomes less frustrating as the story develops.

Good listen for those who like psychological thrillers.

Art imitates life

As a stalking victim, this was hard to read as it was so realistic

Very average, disappointing

An average story that could have been so much more than it was, it was at best a “chick flick book”
The narration didn’t help, it was too soft & delicate giving it the “chick flick” vibe.
I saw it through to the end which had a neat twist that was too understated, could have been written better imho!

As with all nicci french books I found there was loads of twists and turns you weren’t expecting - love her style of writing and choice of narrator, nice soothing voice
