Summary

You are US Army military intelligence trainee David Dengler. Following army MI protocol, you are sent on a training exercise to a city you've never visited before and ordered to surveil a public person ("public persons" having little recourse if their privacy is invaded). You can't believe your good fortune. You draw the assignment to surveil Marilyn Monroe. It is early August 1962, and you have just been made a witness to the murder of Hollywood's biggest star.

Interesting premise

Padded out by extraneous material but the premise on which the story is built is a interesting one. Gratuitous violence, brutality and distressing issues mar the adventure and credibility here. But a thin trail of good emerges in the character of Daisy to redeem the tale. The ending could have gone either way. Excluding the former... the nub of it is well written and is well narrated.

Couldn’t finish the book

Complete fabrication. Waste your money if you want! Marilyn didn’t die of suicide but this was not how she died. Total fantasy.

Well performed

Good story believable for the most part, on the same lines as a bond story a bit too Hollywood for me
