Summary

Raffles, the famous cricketer and amateur cracksman, is back in an original adventure.

Harry "Bunny" Manders, Raffles' biographer and accomplice, recounts the tale of the time they broke into the bookshop Hatchard's of Piccadilly. Their mission? To steal a letter, formally owned by one Rene d'Aramis, which if published could compromise a prominent member of the government. Yet even more intriguing than their employment is their employer - a certain Mr Sherlock Holmes of 221b Baker Street. How will the master criminal fare against the legendary detective?

In this stunning re-creation of the classic Raffles stories, Richard Foreman brings one of the most famous characters in literature vividly back to life.

Critic reviews

"A capital story! Strong characters, sparkling dialogue, a plot with a twist as the gentleman thief plies his trade again. Devotees of the original stories will rejoice at his return; new fans will greet a fresh hero and wait impatiently for more adventures. Raffles, burglar extraordinaire, master cricketer, welcome back to The Albany!" (David Dickinson, author of The Lord Powerscourt Mysteries)

A good book

The narrative was very good and easy to listen to.
The story was good but a little thin , I kept expecting a big event to happen. I dont want to spoil the story so I will be vague, how did the journalist know what Raffels was upto ? what if anything was the significance of the clumsy waiter ? ( was it SH )

A lighthearted yarn

A witty little tale of adventure with a cameo from the great Sheock Holmes. The narrator captures quintessential London near the turn of the century, as seen through the eyes of a gentleman theif's accomplice.

Excellent Short Story

Great short story, very easily to listen to. Holmes & Watson's dialogue was very well written too. The narrator did an excellent job.

A wonderful homage to the original stories and characters

The narration, plot and understanding of the original characters were superb; first class, in fact! Highly and thoroughly recommend to fans of Holmes or Raffles, or indeed, any fans of a ripping yarn!
