Summary

In this dog-eat-dog world, it’s people you have to keep your eye on.

When Lizzie Jones, pet sitter extraordinaire, is asked to watch over her best friend's two spoiled dogs at the posh gated community of Craggy Hill Estates, the last thing she expects is to wind up in the middle of a homicide. But that's exactly what happens when she finds her best friend's cheating husband and Danger Cove’s celebrity bodybuilder champ, Mr. Jupiter, floating face-down in his hot tub. To make matters worse, the police aren’t looking any further than the wife for a suspect - isn’t it always the wife? Well, not in this case - at least Lizzie refuses to believe it.

Between dealing with Craggy Hill's hot security guard, Tino Morales - who also just happens to be the man who broke Lizzie’s heart in high school - caring for her grieving friend, and watching three rambunctious dogs, Lizzie has her hands full. So she recruits her famous granddad, retired network field correspondent, Jimmy John Jones, to help her put two and two together to find the real killer.

Was Mr. Jupiter murdered by one of his women on the side? A jealous, disgruntled employee? Or someone with a bitter and deep-seated hatred of the superstar? It's up to Lizzie, Jimmy John, and Lizzie's own pug, Vader, to crack the case before the killer claims another victim...this one much closer to Lizzie’s own heart!

Enjoyable quick and light

Would you listen to Passion, Poison & Puppy Dogs again? Why?

Yes, it was an enjoyable quick listen, nothing in depth you really had to think about, you could just relax and let your mind picture the events and surroundings. I am not saying I want to read it again immediately but it definitely is one for a day when I am stressed and just want a story that runs along on its own with no input from me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Passion, Poison & Puppy Dogs?

For me the funeral ( don't think I am giving anything away about there being a funeral, it is a murder mystery after all - being from Scotland I had to suspend truth but then that is what these types of books are for to just be a story with no pretence of being realistic Yes its nice to have a book at times where the author(s) have to spend much time on research and everything is factually correct but sometimes you just want a book that is a story and artistic license makes it more interesting and fun. I have no complaints about this and would certainly read more by these authors

Have you listened to any of Angie Hickman’s other performances? How does this one compare?

First one

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Sorry no but then it was not that type of book so not really a fair question for it.

Any additional comments?

If you just want a book to listen to when you want to mentally relax then this book is great, no mental input needed. It has a plot in which everything hangs together well - the reader is not left saying hold on how can that be nor are they likely to work out who the murderer is in the first few chapters either - enough suspense and red herrings to keep you guessing.

I received this book free on the understanding I would give a fair review and this is what, in my opinion, I have done.
