Summary
Detective Superintendent Roy Grace thinks he's found a serial killer, but not everything is as it seems in Not Dead Enough, by award winning crime author Peter James.
A beautiful socialite is dead. Roy Grace’s leading suspect, her husband, was sixty miles away when she died, but all other evidence points to him. Has someone stolen his identity or is he simply a very clever liar?
Grace’s investigation and his budding new relationship are derailed after a reported sighting of his wife, Sandy, who has been missing for nine years. Grace desperately tries to cast light on the truth in both cases as his emotional turmoil – and the body count – grows...
Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Not Dead Enough is the third thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead Man's Footsteps and Dead Tomorrow.
Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Not Dead Enough but Good Enough!
A quality series continues with a book that has many of the hallmarks of the previous two but also manages to show a different character of plot and mystery to the previous two. It has the same hard edge as the previous books but this is a clever mystery with the twisted plot slowly unraveling and then seeming to question itself before the final reveal.
It's once again very nicely done, the ongoing character stories develop making it best read in order, though the books stand well enough alone I am sure.
Three books in and I can only say that this series is well worth investing in.

Excellent
Excellent thriller, couldn't stop listening. The plot and the writing is excellent, Peter James is very clever. Kept me guessing until the end. Really recommended

Great book pity about the bigoted black stereotype
Would have given this five stars, but cannot abide the disgraceful negative stereotype of the black colleague, as unintelligent, speaks and built like Frank Bruno, emotionally immature and only listens to rap music on full volume. Please change the narrative!!
Otherwise a well written entertaining book.

so good the suspens was amazing
Honestly, I loved it so much but it took me a while to realise the ending although I like that the author made us think to get there. I'm getting broke buying the next book cos I have to know what happens next. I really just want more.

As usual Peter James gives a good story
A very gripping story and I just didn't expect the great twist at the end.

very good, not quite as good as the first 2
I really enjoyed Not dead enough but didn't think it was quite as good as the first 2 Grace books. I'm still going to keep on with the series. The Narrator was very good except his Irish and South African accents are appalling and that brought me out of the story a bit, luckily the were only used in a few places.

Fascinating
Had difficulty turning this one off. Didn't guess the final twist. Have read one Roy Grace before and liked that as well. Well narrated.

Enjoyed it
Who was your favorite character and why?
Always like Norman Potting.
Have you listened to any of David Bauckham’s other performances? How does this one compare?
He grew on me, initially I just kept seeing Tony Blair.
Any additional comments?
Will be getting the next in the series.

As always, a good read
I think that I have read all of Peter James' books and they are, consistently, good and this one is no exception.

Roy Grace is slipping
I am usually not one to second guess the storyline but in this third novel I found myself cringing with mistakes made by the dci. Hopefully the next ones are better.
