A book that has an amazing ending just as much as the story. A quick listen for anyone that doesn’t have too much time on their hands. A really nice change to hear a train full of voices instead of just one.

    "All-star Poirot!"

Being a big fan of audible's original dramatisation series (passenger 57, the child etc) I was looking forward to listening to this adaptation of a modern classic and boy was I not disappointed.

I'll admit that I have never read any of Agatha Christie's work up until now (I know, shame on me) but I certainly will be from now on, as I can now see plainly that I've been missing out.

Entertaining and enveloping, strap on tight as you board the Orient express because this has more twists than a formula one racing track. Absolutely 10/10.

"Excellent production of Murder on the Orient Express"

I really enjoyed this production of MOTOE. It took me a little while to get used to Tom Conti as Poirot as I’m so used to David Suchet, but as you immerse yourself more in the story I got fully onboard. Great cast and very well acted, the sound effects and music were also excellent and sounded wonderful on my large speaker when listening at home. Thoroughly enjoyable listen, I hope there are more to come - Death on the Nile next please!

    "really enjoyable"

being familiar with the main character immediately helped to enjoy the book, it's a story that I was not actually familiar with me it all the more enjoyable, although a bit predictable. but this is to date my favourite book on audible for one key reason, is my first book that actually out in the effort and money to have more than one person acting. imagine watching a Hollywood blockbuster where one actor played all roles and only changes they clothing for each character. that's what must audio books are like, cheap with one actor. not this book, the actors where splendid and rely helped bring this book to life.

"When's the next one Audible, please soon?"

Although ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ is one of Agatha Christie’s more well known books, my view is it works better in a visual rather audio format. The problem is that after the murder is discovered the majority of the story is then played out in the dining compartment as Poirot interviews the passengers. Without the backdrop of the snow and decor of the Orient Express to keep you enthralled, the story begins to plod. Though I can understand why this story was chosen as it links with the new film, of the same name, starring Kenneth Branagh. It is still an ingenious story, but there are better ones.

Anything bad? Nope not bad, I did really enjoy it, though found some of the minor cast accents a little wobbly - they didn’t always seem authentic, some syllables sounded English/ Welsh.

After so many years with David Suchet depicting Poirot, it took a little time to adjust Tom Conti, but I do hope Audible will dramatise many more books so that he cements himself as the character.

    "Good Adaptation of a Classic"

I loved this adaptation of a much loved classic. It sounded fresh whilst not straying far from the original. The characterisation is good and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good thriller.

The story is interacting and engaging. The speaker is amazing. They can do so many accents: American, French and English + women voices. They show the intention of the characters.

Loved this audio presentation. Reminds me of the old radio dramas. The acting was good with all the characters believeable. I enjoyed listening to this even though I vaguely remembered part of the story. Janice

"Very Entertaining But Not an Unabridged Book."

I found the performance quite enjoyable but I prefer unabridged audiobooks so I own both versions. I look forward to listening to the full story soon so I can better judge this abridged audiobook. The Poirot performance was uniquely done. His reactions of amused chuckles were unexpected but interesting.

"Fun Listen - Not the Actual Book"

This is a fun listen - Tom Courtenay as Poirot is reason enough - but it is actually more of a radio play than an audible experience of Christie's book. If you want something quick and light, this will work, but if you want the real book, there are other versions you can listen to.

    "Great performance"

This is such a great story from Agatha Christie, written in her classic Proirot style. It is impossible not to love her characters, or hate the evil ones. These voices are very on point and represent these characters well.
If you only ever read or listen to one Agatha Christie story - this is the one. You will know her humor, her style, her gift, and then you will want to read more.
If this is your first exposure to Christie, I offer advice. I first read this novel as a pre-teen Holmes fan. I was disappointed. Since then I read Miss Marple stories and realized my mistake. Christie is her own genre. Read (listen to) this as a novel first. The who dunit is a bonus.
    Enjoy!
