Publisher's Summary

Agatha Christie's most famous murder mystery, recorded by the director and star of the blockbuster film adaptation, Kenneth Branagh.

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer - in case he or she decides to strike again.

    "Disappointing was expecting better"

With her most famous book being read by such a thespian I wes expecting more from this narration. The narrative especially the first few chapters felt rushed,as though he was doing a practice read through before a scene. The accents were all over the place, which I don't think was helped by the strange voice he gave to the doctor,it was a wonder he hadn't lost his voice by the end! Although not terrible I now wish I had got the David suchet version

"The original and very best “Who Dunnit”"

Even though I knew the ending of this mystery it absolutely held me. I loved it all over again. A very special rendition of this much loved book. My goodness Agatha Christie was a very special author.

The narration is perfect...but the it would be! I do admit to seeing David Suchet in my mind’s eye though! I will be interested to see Kenneth Branagh’s film adaption.

    "Classic Agatha Christie"

You can’t really go wrong with an Agatha Christie. This classic whodunnit audiobook narrated by Kenneth Branagh was well detailed and had a good plot twist at the end. A short but engaging listen.

    "Entertaining bit of Winter fun"

Enjoyable and entertaining. Kenneth Branagh voices Poirot very well but some of his other voices can be a bit all over the place. But a decent story for your little grey cells.

"Perfect mystery for cosy bedtime listening."

A great story with a fab twist which I won't spoil for you! Kenneth Branagh is a splendid narrator; one character is a bit annoying but I think that is intentional. My first Poirot novel but definitely not my last.

    "Beautifully read. Great story"

For me, actors are the best readers of text. Kenneth Brannah is evidentially in the top 10% of those great readers.

Four stars for the story because I worked out the ‘Who done it” part very quickly. However, that never once detracted from the wonderful storytelling and great pleasure I received from listening to this audiobook.

Most likely, if insomnia grasps my bedtime hand, I’ll grasp my phone in the other and listen to this classic tale once again.

"The best piece of spoken theatre"

Agatha Christie's words read out perfectly and masterfully by Kenneth Branagh. He was simply sublime - acting out every character as though there really was an entire cast involved in the production. Highly recommended as it is an absolute treat!
