Summary

Libby Serjeant and her friend Fran become involved in the strange rituals of the local Morris Men, when one of them is found dead on May Day and another seems to have vanished into thin air. Libby goes out of her comfort zone, as far as Cornwall, in search of the solution, which, in the end, is found much closer to home, turning out to be the most unpleasant case she has dealt with yet.

the best one so far.

Any additional comments?

once again libby finds herself investigating a murder to help a friend. she finds herself researching morris men and offshoots of the group which I found interesting.

libby does the ground work and fran only comes in near the end.

patience Tomlinson does a very good job performing the book.

.listened to this book before ,murder imperfect which is the right order.

Murder

Would you consider the audio edition of Murder in the Green to be better than the print version?

I think I prefer the books as I have ingrained the voices on each character and although the reading is good, the male voices are off putting.

What other book might you compare Murder in the Green to, and why?

All the books remind me of The Famous Five for adults

Have you listened to any of Patience Tomlinson’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I enjoy her reading but prefer men to read the male voices

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I tend to listen to these stories over a week so I can kept the charactes and plot fresh in my mind

Enjoyed it - esp. "history" lesson

Enjoyable story with good narrator. Part of story revolved around Morris Dancers, Cornwall, Goddess groups, etc. This was fascinating, esp. for myself from US. The plot itself, and the "secret" of the murderers were less interesting. Overall, good.

A Dud

I love English village mysteries and I wanted to like this---a mystery with a theme of Morris dancing should be a winner. It isn't. It's very talky in a trite way, and the plot unfolds at the rate of moss growing. Narration is quite good, but what a disappointment the story is. I know not everyone can be another Dorothy Sayers, Ngaio Marsh, or Agatha Christie, and I am thrilled with even 50% of the quality of one of these great classic British mystery writers. This wasn't even at 10%.

superb

smarter than 'cozy', with a nice dollop of celtic/pagan plot to it, what makes this book absolutely dazzling to listen to is the wonderful narration by ms. tomlinson. it is like watching an episode of the great british tv mystery series "rosemary and thyme" or "pie in sky" which, if you are looking at downloading this book, would be just your cuppa check them out on netflix!
