Summary

How long do you hunt for the missing?

A horrible vanishing act....

When a young Josie Masters sees a boy wearing a red football shirt, Dylan Jones, being taken by a clown at a carnival, she tries to alert the crowds. But it's too late. Dylan has disappeared....

Thirty years later, Josie is working as a police officer in Bath. The remains of the body of a child have been found - complete with tatters of a torn red football shirt. Is it the boy she saw vanish in the clutches of the clown? Or is it someone else altogether?

And then another child disappears....

Enjoyable story narrator let it down

I enjoyed the book though predictable.

The narrator was good at changing voices but not much life added to the voices. Got to a point where I was going to switch off but I'm gad I kept going, it was a good thriller.

an alright listen

I enjoyed this book. The narrator's style was annoying and a little over the top on occasion but seeing beyond this it's good if not a little far fetched. I had guessed certain people were involved but not how. Jo as a character is a little annoying as she is seemingly just super perfect despite everything.

Well written and great narration

The storyline was excellent, and I especially liked the way the author described the scenes, it was as if I was in the room.

This was also backed up well with a great audio narration.

Brilliant

Wow what a great book. So many twists, I thought I knew what the conclusion was going to be but I was so wrong and the ending is so unpredictable! Great narration also.

Enjoyable listen

This is a an enjoyable listen. I had worked out who the 'baddie' was quite early on, but I kept listening to see how the various threads would eventually be linked together. I am a bit tired of police officers who don't have any family they are close with or friends. It makes police seem as if they're a different species from the rest of humanity. In my 15 years as a civilian oversight volunteer with the Met, all the officers I've met are remarkably normal. It's maybe a little bit cliched, but the story is well thought out and knits together well. Worth a punt!

Possibly a good story ruined by awful narration

I had to give up on this one even though the story piqued my interest. I found the narration style grated on my nerves and it’s the first audible download I’ve had to abandon as a result 🙁
