The tiny Swedish island of Sandhamn has always been a haven for lawyer Nora Linde. With trouble brewing in her marriage, she finds its comforts more welcome than ever, even in the depths of winter. That is, until her two young sons trip across a severed arm in the woods.
The boys' gruesome discovery will once again connect Nora with her childhood friend Thomas Andreasson, now a local police detective. When the limb is identified as belonging to a twenty-year-old woman who disappeared without a trace months earlier, what had been a missing persons case takes on a whole new urgency.
Nora and Thomas delve deeply into the woman's final hours, each of them wrestling not only with the case but with the private demons it awakens in them. As they do, they'll find themselves drawn into the history of Sandhamn and the tensions that have been simmering just below the surface for more than a hundred years.
I prefer not to listen to a serialized series (one where the all of the novels except the final one end in cliffhanger situations) until all of the series has been published. The Sandhamn Murders series was not serialized until the third novel, Guiltless, ended with a major unresolved issue. I look forward to the next Sandhamn Murder book.
This series should be read in order written in part because the first chapters of Book 2 completely gives away the plot of Book 1.
Guiltless is the best book in the series to date; it earns five stars. Narration is still by Angela Dawe. Maybe I've become accustomed to her; he narration is excellent.

Had a hard time keeping track of the individual characters since involved families over 4 generations and switched between decades throughout the book.
Each novel gets better and better when is the next one out? I can't wait
Sandhamn Murders was disappointing because it had promise and fell short. I was intrigued by the setting but left dry of a protagonist who had insufficient complexity personality or centrality to the book to drive the story. He was not central to the story. There were too many other sub stories to the mystery without apparent tie-in. The actual clues for the motive were started too late into the story and wrapped up too quickly. This left me wondering why all the set up for a quick and insufficient conclusion.
the story was well put together and naration was amazing......i couldn't stop listening! Can't wait for the next book!
Please tell me there is another book coming out in this Series! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
so very very good and the lands descriptions are fsnttastic!
It ended so abruptly I feel like my phone malfunctioned. I feels like it ended in the middle of a sentence
Would you try another book from Viveca Sten and/or Angela Dawe?
Yes Viveca Sten, no aangela Dawe
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not on the edge of my seat, but maintained my interest.
Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Dawe’s performances?
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I don't go to movies
Any additional comments?
I really like the series but I will read the next book on my Kindle if it is read by Angela Dawe. This series needs a Swedish accent and someone who can do men well, our hero sounded like a Disney Princess.
What was the point of the open ended ending? Switching from the before and current story was not always easy.
Still, I would read more by the author who is a wonderful writer especially with character development.
