Summary

"It’s Miss Marple on steroids!"

"Batman with dentures!"

Another murder rocks the small Welsh town of Gilfach - the police are baffled, the corpse is getting colder, and only Granny Smith, the intrepid pensioner sleuth, stands between justice and all out anarchy.

Granny has a talent for mayhem, and soon those talents are put to good use as our intrepid pensioner starts to unravel the case, which finds her provoking Chief Inspector Miskin as she comes up against a full-scale police investigation, proving that you’re never too old to make a nuisance of yourself and that 71 is actually the new 21.

Granny Smith

This was my first encounter with Granny Smith and I have to say I hope it will not be my last. The book is funny, with great characters, and fantastic narration. The humour did reduce when the body was found but elements remained- I would have liked it to stay at the level it was at the start but it was an understandable choice given that there had been a murder.

Simple Joy !!!

This is my first Granny audiobook, I was worried that I will be lost because I haven’t read the first one, I’ve discovered that I was worried for nothing, each book in the Granny series can be read or listened to as a single which is great and Granny’s music taste is awesome.
The book is fun easy to follow, G. M. Dobbs writing is great, coupled with Fiona Thraille narrating the book accomplished a symphony.

Fully recommend this book !!!

😂

Gary certainly has a talent, not bad for one raised in the secluded Gilfach Goch.

Fantastic voice acting makes this a joy to hear

If I won the lottery I would attempt to hire Fiona Thraille to read books to me on a regular basis! I love the non stereotypical characters in this amusing adventure, but Fiona's range of voices and accents brings each character to life, making this audiobook a real pleasure. If I didn't know better I'd believe Ms Thraille grew up in the Welsh valleys! I will definitely be looking out for more books narrated by this talented actor.
