Back on form

I loved Nomad but went a little off Exile, when I felt the action sequences had become too Hollywood, and Mark Dane started to look for like Dwayne Johnson in my head.

Really pleased to find that Ghost seems to have toned down a little, and gone back to the root.

Narator is first class too.

An endless tirade of fight sequences. :-(

The previous Mark Dane books were fast, but with interesting substance between the fights. Ghost, however, seems to have shifted the emphasis to a seemingly continuous series of fights, with minimal character development or actual plot development.

As a middle-aged man, this only appealed to a (somewhat distant) teenager inside, but while I persevered, I was left waiting for the end only to get it over and done with.

Somewhat disappointing, since the previous books, although definitely in the category of light read, at least had some quite interesting plot. This didn't, and I would NOT recommend this to anyone who read the previous two books and thought they erred already to a bit too much action.

TBH, I'm not sure I'd even recommend it to my 14 year old son: it's that light on plot.

Lost interest

Got to the end but large chunks are missing as it didn’t hold my interest.

Got bored

Got bored listening to this. Kept zoning out of the story.

Think this might be a decent series for a teenager.

This will he the last in the series that I will listen to.

Disappointing

The third of this series confirms the decline . The book needs a serious edit. It's chock full of action but lacks intrigue. The plot isn't compelling, and characters that were interesting in earlier books don't show any development, so aren't as engaging.

Disappointing 3rd instalment

After listening to the first book Nomad I was really interested in the series as it was excellent, the next instalment Exile was good but not as good as Nomad then the 3rd instalment Ghost has left me disappointed as the levels have dropped I hope it is not a trend so will look at the 4th one and hopefully an improvement

A bit of a let down.

Not as good as first 2 books. A bit tired & formulaic. Will stick with him & see if the magic comes back.

Loved the ins and outs of this book. Excellent narration and interesting characters to help the story along.

I’m out of superlatives

Can’t say anything other than you have to read this after reading books 1&2 which were every bit as good as this one. Don’t know how he does it, every story line is plausible, especially in the current climate
