Publisher's Summary

Maria wants to be friends.

But Maria is dead.

Isn't she?

When Louise Williams receives a message from someone left long in the past, her heart nearly stops.

Maria Weston wants to be friends on Facebook.

Maria Weston has been missing for over 25 years. She was last seen the night of a school leavers' party, and the world believes her to be dead. Particularly Louise, who has lived her adult life with a terrible secret. As Maria's messages start to escalate, Louise forces herself to reconnect with the old friends she once tried so hard to impress. Trying to piece together exactly what happened that night, she soon discovers there's much she didn't know. The only certainty is that Maria Weston disappeared that night, never to be heard from again - until now....

"Great listen - Need more like this"

Really enjoyed listening to this story, it kept me interested, a lot of audiobooks leave me bored half way through.

The reader could have just been a little more expressive when reading certain parts, which would have kept me in more suspense, but all seemed to be in one tone. But this didnt ruin the book

    "Wish I hadn’t bothered"

The story starts off all right, but from then it drags on and on With the heroine stating about every chapter, how she wishes how she could tell people what happened and what a bad person. she is. This halts the whole narrative. The reader does her best. I’m three quarters through and totally bored

    "more thoughts than storyline"

I finished the book so it did hook me and the twist at the end I didn't see coming...but that said..it moved slowly . so much narrative given to thoughts on her actions and feelings about everything made this book feel very tedious and repetitive. a very short story drawn out by extensive introspection... more needed to happen .

I simply loved it from the very first chapter. I haven't been so interested in a story for long time. Thank you.

    "Great story"

Great story with lots of twists which I enjoy! The writing is excellent and the acting, for the most part, is good too. Just a word of warning for anyone wanting to listen though, there are a few moments of poor editing. Where the voice actor says the same thing twice or clears her throat. It's not her fault, it's just that the editing was lazily done. Overall though, it's a really gripping book.

"A bit boring because of bad narration"

There was absolutely no differentiation between characters from this narrator which meant I was often confused who was talking, and the monotony of her voice made this quite boring. Also there was an editing error where she made a mistake and restarted. The story was alright but I felt bored listening to this narrator.

    "A really good listen!"

Great story and characters, plus an unexpected twist. Summoned plenty of school days nostalgia, good and bad. Beautifully read too.
