Edge of Suspense: Thrilling Tales of Mystery & Murder is a collection of mystery, suspense, and thriller short stories from best-selling crime writer R. Barri Flowers. Tales include "Dinner Crashers", in which FBI and Secret Service agents try to stop an attempted political assassination; a noir mystery; "The Wrong End of a Gun Barrel", about a beautiful blonde who turns out to be more than a man bargained for; "Vandals", the story of two teenagers who find themselves running for their lives after vandalizing a car; "The Ripper's Rage," about a serial killer of prostitutes in 1888 New York City who has been captured only to escape; and "The Phone Call," in which a woman must confront her fears when she receives an unlikely phone call; along with five other pause-resistant mystery shorts.
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?
This was definitely not for me and I can't think who it would be for. The first story is about rape and I must admit I got no further.
Would you ever listen to anything by R. Barri Flowers again?
Because the reading is so poor and having explicit sexual content means that you need to think carefully about where and when you listen I would hesitate.
Would you be willing to try another one of Aaron E. Tucker’s performances?
No, the reader has a monotonous voice and reads very slowly. The story therefore held little interest.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
My first audio book; I'm won over.
Have you listened to any of Aaron E. Tucker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've followed Aaron's career for a long time; He always is
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is a collection of stories; thus making it easier to listen as time permits.
