weird sound effects

I usually enjoy reading RA books, but the narration and sound effects were too distracting. the cadence of the narrator was off. each phrase ended with the tone and tempo of the narrator dropping. The Heaven sound was an annoying, cliche attempt at heavenly synth noise. I really did not care for the effects.

Abridged version

Enjoyed the story, but realized toward the end that the audio is not the whole story, as I had the book also. Did not see this mentioned anywhere in the description. Would have liked to know this ahead of time.

Great experience!

I'd read this book years ago and couldn't put it down. Listening to it was just as good as reading, if not better. The story is really interesting and will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the narration is very well performed. I was hesitant to get the abridged version since it's such a long book and I was afraid key details would be left out, but that wasn't the case. I wasn't disappointed.

excellent!

Man is born in iniquity. All people have utterly failed to obey the law of God. You know it. But God, our Creator, (the creation screams Creator), being rich in mercy sent His only begotten Son. Turn from your idols, the things you worship that never pay out what they promise (success, money, relationships, sex, sports) and trust in the substitutionary death of God Himself, Jesus Christ. You are so sinful, blind and lost the perfect Son of God had to die to pay for you (God is a just judge, just like a just judge in our courts, criminals cant be freed without proper payment), but you are so Loved that He joyfully paid for you, and adopts you as a Child, and secures you forever!

Asocial commentary wrapped in a whodunit

This story is well-written but emotionally heavy as it tries to integrate pretty weighty social and spiritual commentary into a rudimentary murder mystery.

Engrossing

This book is well suited to audio format. The plot and dialog are easy to follow. Characters are differentiated, and the action is clear. Christians will enjoy!

Deadline

I do hope Randy Alcorn sees my review!!. This is my second time to listen to Deadline. I am overwhelmed with the story and message this audible book so excellently gives the reader/listener!. The performance of the narrator and the music & sound effects is better than watching the movie. I read the next one "Dominion" on Kindle because it was not offered on audible when I first found this series. Cannot wait to listen to Dominion now!!!. Randy Alcorn is my favorite Christian fiction author!!. "Safely Home" was 1st audible book of his I heard. It is an amazing book on all levels!!!
