Summary

Roll up your pant legs and bare your feet, there are barrels of grapes to crush in this hilarious fourth installment of the Malibu mystery series.

Maloney Investigation's new client? An eccentric vineyard owner convinced his even more eccentric neighbor is siphoning off his precious water. But of course it's not as simple as that. Or as dignified.

Sofia and Aidan soon find out these Merlot messiahs are turning water into wacky, plowing more than fields, and sowing more than grapes. But there's no putting the cork back in when the opposing vintner turns up naked and face down in a trough of sour grapes. Can Sofia and Aidan clear their client and unmask the killer? Or will they, too, perish in the Pinot Noir?

Investigating fun...

I found this an interesting story. I hadn't actually known this was book 4 till I came to review it, I just pushed play on my phone after finishing another story today. But I found the world created here pretty easy to get into.

Madeline does a great job with the characters, putting the right sense of humour and fun into each one. Of course it's an investigation story which you really want to see through to the end by the time it really kicks in. I did wonder about the French accent though wasn't sure if it sounded like something else in my mind... could just have been me. lol

I loved the show and all the horsey extras. Cowboy or not it was great to see a show from someone elses eyes. I think I'll be checking out more in this series, because I had a great day today, with some fun and laughter. Many thanks to both author and narrator.

Too slow going for my liking

What disappointed you about "D" Is for Drunk?

I found the book too slow going: I got to chapter 10 and little seemed to have happened.

Any additional comments?

It isn't my kind of book, but I would try other books by the author as I rarely like all the works of any author.
