Summary

A Roman Catholic priest long known for his holiness is accused of pedophilia from many years ago. This same priest was a classmate of Pope John Paul II who is incensed about the charge. Bertrand McAbee, a PI but a former classics professor, is asked by the Vatican to look in to the matter in a small Iowa diocese. It isn't long before he encounters a number of unsavory characters as he tries to puzzle out the truth of the matter. Violence finds him again - where and when he least expects it.
