Summary

Teacher Morgan Peers has gone from living a tough life to becoming an heiress nearly overnight. When she inherits Woodmere Manor in the Hudson Valley in New York from her estranged father, she makes big plans for the future, but the past still holds sway over the fog shrouded mansion. Morgan begins to question her sanity when she sees a ghost and learns about the tortured history of the house, and its five tower rooms.

To complicate matters, two men make it difficult to listen to her own heart. Owen Long, the estate caretaker, offers friendship and understanding while Noel Crimson, a local priest with a tragic past of his own, haunts her thoughts. And time is running out because someone or something wants Morgan dead. Morgan must figure out if man or spirit haunts Woodmere Manor if she is going to save her life and find love.

Not a bad

I think this story could have been a lot more. Don't get me wrong it was not bad, I did listen to it from beginning to end. The narration I found a little of putting as some of the attempts as changing voice were not good.

Could be better but not a bad short story!

What did you like best about Come to the Tower, Love? What did you like least?

I found the story to be slow to begin with then it picked up towards the end. The ending was rushed, there were I few things that were not explained. I did not like the heroin Morgan as much as I liked the priest (Noel). I liked the interaction between Noel and Morgan. In my opinion that was the best part.I solved who did it quite quickly the only thing I got wrong is the why which surprised me.I didn't find it spooky at all. I have listened to other murder mysteries which were a lot more creepy then this. With a bit more work this could be a really good book

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Make it more creepy since it is a Gothic book. I would have kept away from Owen the gardener. since she did not really like him from the beginning then she changed her mind towards the end because of a certain situation. which I found very stupid of her to do, since she broke her own rule not to date men at the moment. When she tried to break it off she took ages! Why. I did not think it was difficult. She found she liked another guy so she tried to break it off with Owen and yet she let him kiss her. What! Then something happened which she has only herself to blame for. I do not feel any sympathy for her at all. The ending was rushed. I believe it needs more time spent on it. As I mentioned before I liked the interaction between Morgan and Noel. This was the best thing (in my opinion) of the book.

What didn’t you like about Daniela Acitelli’s performance?

I don't believe this Narrator suited this book. I found her to have the same monotone for each character she did. I did not differentiate between them at all.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

I would go and see this if it was done into a movie, since they would do a better effect of the Gothic theme.
