Publisher's Summary

Chase Baker, Renaissance man and adventurer is back. When a flirtatious, beautiful young woman by the name of Andrea Gallo claims to be a fan of his pulp novels, Chase can't resist reciprocating in the lusty attraction. But that night, while the two enjoy a romantic evening of wine and love in his Florence apartment, he is suddenly kidnapped from his bed by two thugs who turn out not only to be working for Great Britain's infamous MI-16, but also working side-by-side with Gallo. Duped once again, Chase wants to bid his newfound romance a quick "arrivederci" and be on his way. But when they tell him they desperately need his help to uncover a legendary cave in the Northern Italian forest before a team of Russian and Iranian hardliners do, he feels compelled to help out, regardless of their rather unsound method of capturing his attention.

But what's so special about the cave?

It's said to be the very same cave that Leonardo da Vinci discovered as a young man back in the mid-15th century, and where he not only learned the secrets behind his many inventions, including the airplane, but where he was exposed to the very meaning behind God's divine plan for mankind. Why is the MI-16 so desperate to uncover the cave before the bad guys do? Whoever discovers it first will possess the knowledge and the power to take over the world.

    ""You actually live your adventures.""
What did you like most about Chase Baker and the Da Vinci Divinity?

Slightly different from earlier Chase Baker novels, this one is a lot more personal and written in the first person. After being recruited by MI 16 to find da Vinci's legendary cave, Chase's quest goes pretty smoothly - well, as smoothly as they ever go.. Apart from the Islamists. And the Russians. And then, there's Andrea....

Another great fun adventure book, from Vincent Zandri, recounting the astonishing exploits of the ' best selling ( but not as famous as Dan Brown ) author' , Chase Baker. Narrator Andrew Wehrien becomes the man himself, with a warm, natural reading perfectly suited to Chase's sardonic, sometimes self depreciating but bold personality. His voicing of the other protagonists is also individual, distinct and fitting ( with the brief exception only of the Poseidon twins, whose English Cockney to this Brit's ears sounds more like a poor imitation of New York gangsters). His pace followed the action and the whole was a superb performance.

My thanks to the rights holder of Chase Baker and the Da Vinci Divinity for gifting me my copy, via Audiobook Boom. I have followed this exciting and humerous series almost since the beginning. Each book is completely stand alone and very enjoyable but I think that this is one of my favourites.

"One of the best Chase Bakers!"
What made the experience of listening to Chase Baker and the Da Vinci Divinity the most enjoyable?

I think I enjoy listening to Mr Wehrlen reading to me. He's the best mystery/suspense/thriller narrators I've encountered.
I usually don't like third person present tense, but this narrator does a flawless read, allowing me to overlook some of the tedious mundane tidbits.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This one certainly did. It had several twists and life-or-death and 'omgoddess! What are you thinking, Chase?!' moments. I loved it!

Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to several books he has narrated. I would pick up a book, simply because he is reading it.

    "Grand Slam..!!"

I love a sharp dose of authenticity , Action and wity humor ..when a story is told arrow-straight and fiction feels like reality, when you may have never been to a certain place or met someone like the character you're reading, and yet you feel the narrative's truth. Vincent Zandri definitely has a gift for this...in spades. The writing is tensile-taut, the story lines are interwoven seamlessly, and all the gory details are nicely intact.

You can't imagine a gentleman like this author ever knowing an earthly thing about the underbelly of life that this novel depicts, but his writing resounds with the tone of real people imbedding a real place in time. The story breathes you in and holds its breath as the tension mounts ..

An intricate plot and fleshy, memorable characters, the expressive narrative and relentless pacing will no doubt cause Chase Baker. and the De Vinci Divinity to be remembered as indeed one of the best action novels of the year..

    "Snarky adventure!"

Short, fun, something of an urban fantasy adventure that sneaks up on the reader. It's all done very tongue in cheek with more imagination than expected. The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers, but that can't begin to prepare you for all the snarks, situational and verbal humor. Just let it catch you and your imagination and enjoy the read!
Andrew B. Wehrlen narrates it well and adds to the snark factor.

"Sometimes It Is About The Journey"

Of course there a quest, and Chase Baker is on it. Here he is trying to find out about the youthful Leonardo and the cave that might be the answer to so many of his inexplicable discoveries. It was just another adventure in history until MI-16 wants to become involved. The story has all the requirements. Bad guys, secret societies, unusual government agencies. It is a Clive Cussler meets Dan Brown. This is a good read, even though some of the story becomes a stretch it still remains entertaining.

    "Worth your time and credit"
    Any additional comments?

While each book in the series can be listened to as a standalone, each book is worth your time and credit.

Another great addition to the series. Very entertaining, engaging and enjoyable. Every single installment in the series is a great listen and this latest book keeps the tradition going strong. Each book is fast paced, well written and full of humor with plenty of mystery and intrigue. As usual you never know quite what to expect or what twists the plot will take.

When is Chase going to learn. His entanglements with woman always get him into some kind of trouble.

Where did Da Vinci get some of his ideas for his inventions. Was it all his own brilliant imagination or did he have help from an other worldly source. Da Vinci is said to have discovered this cave as a young man. Once he emerged from the cave he was never the same. What are the secrets he was exposed to during his time in the cave. Others have learned of the cave's existence and are searching for it's location. Chase is pulled into a race against the clock in the search for this cave and the secrets it holds. With a little divine intervention he just might be able to find it before they do.

Andrew B. Wehrlen makes these stories come alive through his narration. Nice voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great character voices. Perfect tone & delivery of the sarcasm and humor. He is the perfect narrator for the series. Always a fantastic listen.

    "Another enjoyable Chase story"
Would you consider the audio edition of Chase Baker and the Da Vinci Divinity to be better than the print version?

Yes. The humor of the character comes through so well in these books. The flawed yet likeable Baker gets himself into a sticky widget and has to snark his way out using his know how and luck. This is a fun and fast listen. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

    "Chase Baker Does It Again"

Another fun entry in the Chase Baker series. Chase encounters his usual evil villains and receives a needed assist from Leonardo Da Vinci. There are a couple of unusual twists and turns in the story that keep the action going.
Andrew B. Wehrlen does an excellent job. He has enough wry humor in his voice to make you believe that he is Chase Baker.
