Great Listen for Hard-Boiled Fans

If you could sum up Black in three words, what would they be?

Great Pulp Fiction.

What other book might you compare Black to, and why?

Any of the Original Blask Mask audio books would be good to try. Hollywood Theater of the Ear delivers a fine audio production with all the traditional radio drama elements intact. The period music and tough narrative give you a step back in time to the 1930s, whilst enjoying modern production and fantastic sound quality. This series gives the listener a modern version of classic pulp fiction detective story with top-notch actors. Tough-talking bad guys and equally tough-talking, hard doing good guys make a great stories. Couldn't ask for more. If you're a hard-boiled detective story fan, give 'Black' and the other Black Mask audiobooks a listen. You'll enjoy the great quality.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I loved all the actors - they brought the characters to life and kept me wanting more.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Gripping drama and a few laughs too.
