Summary

I’m too busy. We’ve all heard it, we’ve all said it. Sometimes being busy seems like the theme of our lives. Yet this frenetic pace poses a serious threat to our physical, social, and even spiritual well-being. In this mercifully short book about a really big problem, best-selling author Kevin DeYoung rejects the "busyness as usual" mindset, arguing that a life of constant chaos is far from what God intends. DeYoung helps us figure out a better way forward as he strikes a mature and well-reasoned balance between doing nothing and doing everything. With his usual warmth, humor, and honesty, DeYoung deftly attacks the widespread "crazy busy" epidemic and offers up the restful cure we’ve all been too busy to find.

Great read to a big problem

Great book but tough to summarise - a massive challenge to tackle the root of busyness by doing the ‘good portion’ spending more time with Jesus

Helpful direction in our busy lives

This audiobook is clear and easy to follow with relevant stories and references. It may be an uncomfortable truth for most. Importantly we need to set our priorities and appreciate the priorities of others; be busy for the right thing; definitely not people pleasing or controlling; and not just for our own selfish desire. We cannot solve the worlds problems, but we can care and do our best in the areas we can. To achieve a usefully busy life, not crazy busy, our faith comes first.

Great book!

Good reminder of what we ought to be busy with and what we ought to set aside. Good reminder that the Kingdom doesn't rise or fall on what I do or don't do. Thanks for the encouragement, Kevin!

A lot of help in a few pages

An easy to read, practical book to help those of us who seem to habitually overload our schedules. Why implementing the invoice found in this book I have been able to be more effective in my service for the Lord.

Simple is Profound

This fast and easy listen provides some good "gut-check" questions for reflection, practical steps for evaluation and application, and is freeing in helping us learn what to say "yes" and, more importantly, what to say "no" too.

Crazy Helpful

I was so thankful for this book. I was at seminary, running a business, doing ministry, and trying to care for 4 kids and be a good husband. What a great book to help remind me of the main things.

Worth every minute of my time!

Take the time to read this.. it highlights and puts into words lots of problems (and their consequences) christians encounter every day. The solution offered is as old as the world, but the book demonstrates well why we need it.
