Great story and narration

This was a great piece of writing, and made even better by the fantastic narrators of this piece. I could feel the h passion and her confusion regarding her history and the men she offed. The male narrator was good too and the differentiation betwen all the characters was vivid. Loved it

What a book!!

Catching Love & Death is a different kind of book. It centres itself around a female murderer Vivienne, who despite all the men she’s murdered just wants to be a normal girl. However, things from her past are starting to catch up with her, and there’s a mysterious sailor, Dean, that’s captured her attention. Running from her unwanted past and her feelings for Dean, she fights for her life and for the life of her best friend when they are both kidnaped. Yet again things aren’t always what the seem. Armed with a lifetime of violence and self preservation, Vivie sets out to bring down some of the worlds most dangerous people, starting with her birth father. I loved the happy ending she finally got with Dean, and she finally put an end to all the corruption those men were trying to bring about.

Exciting and unusual

That's a winning combination for any story. From the first chapter, Craving Love and Death strikes a different note and continues to build an enthralling, twisty tale. The narration by Kinsey Case and John Burgundy is in the duet style and is a success. This is the most challenging audio style, in my opinion, and here, has been done so well. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the world of Dean and, more especially, Vivienne, voiced with conviction by Kinsey. Looking forward to more from this team!

Intoxicating and sultry

This was a quick and satisfying listen. The story of Vivie using murder to satisfy her sexual needs was a really intriguing concept for me that could have gone awry if done poorly, which was not the case in Craving Love and Death. The writing was really well done and kept me captivated from the very first chapter until the end. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a noir romance.

Audio - John Burgundy did a fantastic job. The only thing that kept this from being 5/5 stars for performance was a couple of the women's voices that Kinsey Cass did. They were a little high-pitched and whiny, However, her voice for Vivie was perfect so it was easy to overlook.

A Twisted Tale

4.5 Stars!
This is definitely an original storyline compared to so many things I've been listening to lately. There is enough drama, intrigue and murder to keep you caught up in the characters and their stories from the beginning to the end. I had a little bit of trouble with the female narrator in the beginning but once I got used to her southern accent I enjoyed the rest of the book.

This story is a little dark, a little edgy, a lot enticing

The story draws you in from the beginning, the suspense, intrigue, twists and turns holds you at the edge of your seat till the end, all the while Haven tells you the story of Vivie, a victim of a circumstance not of her own making, but of her early childhood experience, suppressed memories, and a predilections for the macabre.
The narration was interesting, with the added Russian dialects.
Thank you Haven for gifting me this audible book for a fair and honest review.

Dark Romance with a Killer Past

This was an amazing dark romance that kept you hooked until the end and wanting more! This book was set in the 1950’s when women did what they were told by their husband and didn’t shake things up and when mobsters met in secret clubs to plot their next move. Vivid is a night club singer and waitress, but her lust and hunger make her into something else off the clock. Vivie has a dark and gruesome past which leads to her current predicament of being wanted and killed for murder. Lt. Dean has a past just as dark, but he’s keeping secrets from her to try to keep her safe. I loved that both characters were strong, independent, and protective of one another and still had room for growth. I really enjoyed watching their story unfold, the steamy scenes, and how it ended.
Kinsey and John did a great job with this narration duet! They both flowed smoothly and kept you hooked from the start. I loved the different character voices that they used, the accents, and how much they brought their characters to life!

Thoroughly enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Story was well written, it keeps your attention from the start. The main character has guts. I like that the female character is strong, she may not be the best person to begin with but like how it shows that people can change. Sometimes finding someone to love and that loves you back can make all the difference. Cannot wait to read more from this author!

Murder, pain, lust and love

This book drew me in from the minute I started listening and kept me enthralled until the end. It was dark and dangerous, erotic and deadly, and so absorbing. For me, it was missing a little something towards the end to better explain why she felt so compelled to kill all those men. It didn't quite fit for me. The lead female was fantastic and one of those characters so fascinating you want to listen and learn more about her. The lead male was also a very good character. He brought out another side of the female we weren't seeing. This book kept my interest from start to finish.
