"Love is a gamble. You'll never be able to predict whether you have a bad hand or a good one until you start playing."–Puma

Normandee Tribune dedicates her life to saving the lives of children. While she loves her job, it doesn't fill the void of not being able to have the one thing she desires more than anything—a family of her own.

Amid her fertility struggles, she's forced to come to terms with the reality that she may have put her heart in the hands of the wrong person. Things begin to shift after she's reunited with the knight in shining armor who once helped her during a devastating loss. Now, Normandee is left with hard decisions only she can make.

Tycen Newell had everything a man could ask for: a beautiful fiancée and a son he adored. However, a tragic accident uncovers an unforgivable secret and betrayal from the people he thought he could trust. Revenge is the only thing on his mind when crossing paths with the beautiful doctor who turned his world upside down. Somehow, she manages to find her way into not only his bed but his heart as well.

It's hard to trust when you've been hurt before. It's even harder to love when you've never experienced the real thing. Normandee is determined to keep her heart on lock, but Tycen has other plans for her.

The writing is really good, the characters are believable people and also likeable. Winston was a great choice of narrator, Georgie on the other was not. She was robotic, lifeless and took you out of the story with her weird cadences and whispery tone. Really upsetting because this book would’ve got 5/5 if Normi wasn’t read by her. She’s in the second book too which is annoying, but I’m sure Winston and Kami’s writing will make it worth the listen.
