About this listen

'Compulsively readable and vividly written—it kept me awake long past my bedtime! Ariel Sullivan is a writer to watch'
– Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Court of Thorns and Roses

One man could offer her the world. The other will help her destroy it . . .

Born to an Elite family, Emeline has been marked as different from birth and by a society that judges all its citizens on their ability to conform.

Emeline only has one role open to her: to become a mother. Offered a pro-creation contract with Collin, a member of the Illum – the governing body of the Elite – Emeline finds herself increasingly torn between her growing complicated feelings for her proposed mate, and another man who lives on the margins of their society who challenges her ideals.

When the marginalized rise up in rebellion, Emeline begins to question everything she has ever believed in.

It’s time to choose a side . . .

'A love triangle that will have you picking sides . . . then changing sides . . . then changing sides again. I read it in one sitting' - Veronica Roth, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Divergent

Editorial Review

Perfection has never felt so dangerous
Set in a glittering, glass-towered future where bloodlines are controlled and love is never free, Conform had me hooked from the very first chapter. Emeline has spent her life alone until she’s chosen to compete for a procreation contract with one of the most powerful men in the world. What follows is a twisted, high-stakes love triangle set against a backdrop of secrets, surveillance, and rebellion. The fast pace, paired with Amanda Leigh Cobb’s stellar performance, made this an immersive listening experience that I am still not over. And that end... Let’s just say: I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next in the series.—Patty R., Audible Editor

Critic reviews

Compulsively readable and vividly written — it kept me awake long past my bedtime! Ariel Sullivan is a writer to watch (Sarah J Maas, #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Court of Thorns and Roses)
A compulsively readable romantic debut with a love triangle that will have you picking sides . . . then changing sides . . . then changing sides again. I read it in one sitting (Veronica Roth, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Divergent)
Ingeniously combining intricate dystopian world-building with swoon-worthy romance, Ariel Sullivan’s thrilling debut engages and entertains while weaving in timely and essential questions about women’s bodily autonomy, ideological control, and the dangers of social and genetic engineering. Readers will dive headlong into the mesmerizing world of Conform, savor every stunning twist, and finish clamoring for the next installment. I couldn’t put it down (Jessamine Chan, New York Times bestselling author of The School for Good Mothers)
Colourful, inventive and addicting . . . Reading Conform gave me the same feeling I had when I was younger reading The Hunger Games . . . A talent who I know will delight readers for years to come (Jenna Bush Hager)
Ariel Sullivan’s Conform pulses with drama and romantic tension, propelling readers through a world where love, autonomy, and rebellion collide. Like a cross between The Hunger Games and The Handmaid’s Tale, this dystopian debut delivers gripping twists and an irresistible emotional core, exploring power, identity, and the cost of defiance. I loved this novel! Propulsive, thought-provoking, and utterly unputdownable, it’s a must-read (Jean Kwok, New York Times bestselling author of The Leftover Woman)
A blazing, propulsive read - bristling with danger, deception, and astonishing twists that will keep you guessing late into the night. After Conform, you’ll never look at the sky the same way again (Michelle Min Sterling, New York Times bestselling author of Camp Zero)
Between Silver Elite, Sunrise on the Reaping and The Compound, dystopia has been having a bit of a moment this year. And with an action-packed plot, an ending that will leave you desperate to read on and an endorsement from Sarah J. Maas, Conform has all the ingredients of your next dystopian obsession
It's like if Hunger Games meets Margaret Atwood.

fantastic

Just finished this book at 11pm and now I don’t know how I’m ever going to sleep again. It is SO GOOD. It’s a completely twisted view on the future drawing parallels from things like the hunger games, the handmaids tale, even snow piercer potentially but the story is carried in its own, very unique way. It keeps you guessing, zigzagging between what you think you know, and comes full circle to rip your heart out before you finish! I cannot wait for the next book to come out, I think I might go insane spiralling before then. Please wish me luck!

I am OBSESSED

I loved the dystopian context and ambitious story but unfortunately I just found too many holes in the plot and ultimately it made it difficult to believe. The characters lacked a bit of depth for my liking and unfortunately I think the book suffered for that as we missed relatability.

Great concept

6 hours (out of 12) and 21 chapters into this extremely boring book, and the story or characters still didn't get anywhere. I endured through half of it with the hope it would get better, but this book is just painfully bad, page after page of nothingness. I can't get my time back, but at least I can refund it to get my credit back. No way I could go through the remaining 6+ hours of plain, bland, characterless, and uneventful tripe. Narration was fine.

Worst story I tried to read in the past two years.
