About this listen
Relationships are complex. Love, ever-changing. And when it comes to rules of the heart, they were made to be broken....
That's what Robert Antonio Bianchi was telling himself, anyway. Otherwise, he really had no excuse for what - or who - he'd done. No excuse, except for his lonely heart, a pitcher of margaritas, four bitter bitches, and the apparent need to confess all his weaknesses to the two men he knew would bring him nothing but trouble.
But trouble was nothing new. Just ask his crazy sisters or any of his friends, and they'd be the first to tell you: If there was a bad decision to be made, Robbie always had a knack for making it. And thus, begins the story of the priest, the princess, and the prick.
©2018 Ella Frank (P)2018 Ella FrankThe narrator doesn't seem to know the difference between a comma and a period/full stop. Most of the time there's no variation in speed, he seems to be rushing through the manuscript, sometimes there's barely a pause between dialogue and description/action or a different character's dialogue. Consequently the narrator runs out of air and has to take breaths in awkward places creating pauses where they shouldn't be. There was barely any characterisation of the voices. I was surprised that Julian had an American accent when his French heritage is so prevalent in the storyline.
I could continue but I think thr fact I didn't finish it says enough. Absolutely no reflection on the book itself which is really very enjoyable.
Disappointing

Robbie is such a fun character now. He has so many complex feelings for characters and he's grown so much since his first appearance. He fits so wonderfully with Julien and Priest, and Ella Frank really manages to capture the possible complexities of joining a relationship with an already married couple.
Both Julien and Priest are fully realised characters, with their own pasts and demons to live with. Robbie really adds something to their lives and his addition doesn't feel forced, as I initially feared it would. I'm really excited to see how this progresses over the series.
Also, the narration by Charlie David is AMAZING. He has such a seductive voice and conveys every emotion perfectly for a fantastic audiobook.
HOT. Do not wear flammables!

Now, back to this book...
We have an established couple Julien & Priest and our beautiful, sweet Princess Robbie that came and made their life perfect.
You see, Julien & Priest were waiting for Robbie. They not only waited for him to show up into their lives but to stop running.
Priest and Robbie met accidentally a while back, and even tho Robbie doesn't remember it, Priest knew from that first moment that he was IT for them.
This book is the beginning of their story. We have 2 more books to go, so don't be surprised that the things take their time unfolding. I think the pace of this book is perfect. We are in the beginning stages of their relationship, and I love everything about this. I love the way they get to know each other, the glimpses we see into Julien's and Priest's life as well. I love that we get to discover Robbie as a person and lover. We actually get to discover all 3 of them like this, but I think the focus was more on Robert in this one since I think in every book we will get a bit more about each, this was his story.
This is an entire universe, and we get to see the characters from other books in this one. Of course, I started this backwards, shocker... not. It's ok, though. I'm gonna enjoy the re-reads later on.
The way the book ended was not necessarily a cliffhanger, but in a way, it was since we got brand new information that will keep the story going and will give us some more insight in their lives. I will go and start the 2nd book now, cuz I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
Ah, and another thing, I loved how open the communication was in this book. In any relationship, the communication is important, but it's a bit extra when more than 2 people are involved. Ah, and as mentioned, I love how we got to know each character and how we actually get to see their personalities. They have one. Perfect.
5✨️'s yeah, totally deserved it.
