I couldn't listen any longer. I intend to return

I found the narrator of the first book to be too difficult to listen too. His voice is naturally deep, but due to the nature of the content (meditations), he slows his voice down and makes it so deep (Barry White style), that it is like listening to the stereotype narrator of Hollywood action movie trailers. It was not compatible with guided meditations for me, but may suit other people, as we all have different expectations and preferences. Also, I heard reference to 'controlling thoughts' in the first and second book. This put me off, as I associate meditation with accepting that thoughts come and go. Aiming to control thoughts seems misaligned with what I learned from other audiobooks on related topics.
Finally, as with so much all Audible content, the contents section (Chapters) have no titles, just numbers. It isn't possible to tell where one book ends and the next one starts. Also, other than adding your own notations, you have no way of knowing which meditation is where. This makes using the audiobook a challenge, which can be stressful and defeating of the intention of the book. Even in there was a PDF supplied which gave titles, that would be workable, but still below the standard of what you might expect from any book.

The best book ever about meditation. Life changing tips. Highly recommended. I have been meditating for 2 decades and reading all books I could find about this subject and so far this one has been the greatest.

Amazing

This book is amazing. It's easy to follow and very helpful for people who want to start mediation like me. Before this book I had no idea what it meant, just like most I thought you had to turn off your thought and sit in silences. Boy was I wrong, and this book helped me see that. I am on my 2nd 10-day mediation with a twist... instead of 5 mins I do each at 20 mins.

I’ve been waiting for a book like this!

This book is the ideal start for anyone embarking on a meditation practice. I find it is also great for those interested in expanding their knowledge base of the various types of meditation, and great tools on how to incorporate them. A must have book for anyone into meditation, and it’s been very well received as a gift as well!

I would give this book 10 stars if I could

I was given this book as a gift and I am very impressed with how well-explained each concept and exercise is. This is the most useful book on meditation that I have ever come across. Each chapter is both simple and profound and potent. The meditation on Day 4 with Mindful Eating was life-altering for me.

Beautifully Done!

have a very solid meditation practice and I learn something new every time I am in a room with him! He carried his wonderful teachings into a book that is awesome for beginners, but there are some wonderful nuggets for even those who have been meditating for years. As the mom of a young woman I can't wait to give this to her and all of her friends as they learn to navigate through these challenging times.

Started meditating in a meaningful and productive

I tried meditation apps before, and always found some benefit to them, but then quit using them shortly thereafter. This book was my first attempt at non-guided meditation (meaning no audio recording talking to me as I meditated).

Lovely Audio Book.

I am giving this book the benefit of the doubt and guessing its good. My therapist told me to listen it. Havent done so yet.

Excellent book !!

The book is very interesting since it shows you different kinds of mediatation and how and when to aproach them. I found Vizualization Meditation as a great way to clearify my mind and concentrate on what I want from my life. Thanks a lot to Katie Anderson for this clear and powerful guide.

Helpful

Everything is explained in detail in this guide. I tried the Breath Meditation and felt very Relaxed from it. I am trying to do it on a regular basis. Overall Very useful book, recommended for all.

Great book

The guide in this book taught me how to concentrate and overcome distractions. Focus and concentration is very important in meditation. Right now, I'm able to relax and remove any negative feelings inside me. Great book!
