excellent book

It goes into great detail about coping techniques etc during the labor process. That being said, if you are planning to get an epidural or even know you will need a c-section

Easy to understand

But the information in the childbirth section is very thorough and includes a lot of tips for natural pain management and natural birth techniques, which is what I wanted to read most.

must listen to it

Excellent read for pregnancy. This book is dense - just flipping through it, you can see how small the margins are in order to fit in more information.

I absolutely love this book.

I absolutely love this book. It was so refreshing to read something that was less serious but still has found that everything I’ve read in the book has been spot on with my experience. It’s nice to find reading on pregnancy that doesn’t actually terrify you and gives a real-life experience. I’ve found her advice and facts do actually match up with other books I’ve read by doctors when people don’t take the statements in this book out of context. A great read that will have you laughing and I will be the first to pass it along to my next pregnant friend!

So funny!

This was the first pregnancy book I’ve read and I’m glad I went the unconventional route. She keeps it real but keeps it light and fun at the same time. Pregnancy is scary but it’s also super exciting. She touches all of the important stuff and also throws in the stuff that your doctor or friends ,ay not think to tell you. Highly recommend for newly pregnant couples to read together.

Best pregnancy book I got: easy to read, informati

I loved the humor and couldn't put it down. I was told that my daughter should read it while she is pregnant, so I bought one for her and one for me. I hope she reads hers and wish there had been a book like this when I was pregnant.

Best book on the emotional side of pregnancy

Of the six pregnancy books I read when my wife was pregnant, this was my favorite. [If such a word can be applied to pregnancy books.] This book really discusses the down-and-dirty, in the trenches, aspects of pregnancy, which, of course, I can't experience first-hand. Whenever I was losing my patience at her latest symptom de jour, I would read this book to try to understand what is going on, to try to regain some patience. [Not that it always worked...]

Love the revisions

When I read the original version two years ago, I thought some of the advice was dated. The updated version is equally funny, on point, and much more current. I still laughed out loud when I read it.

A close friend of mine recommended this book

A close friend of mine recommended this book for me when I first found out that I was pregnant with my first baby. I absolutely loved it. It really feels like you're in the comfort of your closest friends giving you advice from their own experiences. This book also has a lot of wit and humor, I caught myself laughing out loud a few times. I'll probably read it again before I deliver my baby because it not only gives a ton of information it provides the information in a way that doesn't intimidate mothers to be...just like a pep talk from their friends would.

Funny, Lighthearted Look at Pregnancy!

Fun, informative approach to pregnancy and childbirth, which was a nice change from the medical textbook-like books that are out there. It addresses those embarrassing annoyances of pregnancy with humor and empathy!
