Improve your communication - be successful!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would definitely recommended "Communication skills" by Ace McCloud to my friends The audiobook shows you how to be successful, interesting, humorous and smart during conversation. Great audiobook that helps you master communication skills during the knowledge and the action.
The useful tip is how to learning persuasive skills like: to know your audience, using jargon depend of the profession that you are working with. Be persistence and learn from your own mistake. Never give up, because it is always worth to do it.
What did you like best about this story?
I like best the chapter about how to show evidence of your success to your audience. Be energetic, because your audience will be fed up and find your speech boring. You must to demonstrate enthusiasm. Haw many boring teachers are you remember – anybody. You pay attention only for positive, enthusiastic and energetic people.Try to model after somebody who is successful and follow his pattern.
Which character – as performed by Joshua Mackey – was your favourite?
It is not a book that have certain characters. It is most about style of communication like persuasive, aggressive, manipulate. My favorite is assertive type, when you reach your purpose without hurt anybody.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I like the clue the you must find out your communication style. The best is assertive communication, when you can be most confident, have a relax voice that makes other people likely trust you. To achieve this style you can watch video that is provided by McCloud. The worst is submissive communication that makes people unmotivated, apologize for everything and really get them feel guilty. We have to avoid also aggressive and manipulative communication but it is not as bad as submissive.
Any additional comments?
What is more, McCloud shows you how to be charismatic and charming during conversation. You have to be trustful and diplomatic, have good manner and be self-confidence. Very important advice is when you going for your job interview, negotiate your contract, selling products or others situations. Using body language and gesture to show yours facial expression, space and distance, voice volume, hand gesture, eye contact all work together with your words. Mimic body language tell sometimes more than words. If you feel awkward you make others to feel like that.

Great Communication is the Key to Success
In recent years I've learnt that communication is the key to success, especially in the world of business so I started looking for a cheap way to improve my communication keys. Professional advice on this kind of topic is usually very expensive but this book provided me with all the tips I needed for a very reasonable price!
It taught me how to come across as more confident, charismatic and authoritative and has really improved my status at work.
I could not recommend this book more!

Communication is everything!
I'm shy by nature and struggle to communicate with others but after listening to this audio-book I feel much more confident in my ability to speak with others clearly and effectively. I learned about what can get in the way of communication, how to listen properly, and how non verbal communication works.
The chapter on how to create rapport was particularly interesting and I learned a lot about body language and how to use it to increase connection with others. The audio-book also provides tips on how to appear more confident and how to start conversations, which I found very helpful.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who has trouble speaking with others, and anyone seeking to improve their communication skills - this audio-book is a great tool!

Everything you need to know about communication!
Would you consider the audio edition of Communication Skills to be better than the print version?
I'm not sure - I think print version would be equally good, it really depends on the person. I like some of audio books but some things are better written.
If you’ve listened to books by Ace McCloud before, how does this one compare?
It's equally informative and information is presented quite clearly.
What does Joshua Mackey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Given examples are expressed in the way that you can see difference in how people react and how they express their emotions, which is very helpful when considering communication skills.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not really - it's more of an informational and encouraging audio book than anything else.
Any additional comments?
It’s such a helpful audio book – written in a very accessible way with clear directions about how to approach different types of communication. It takes you through all different styles of communication and how people usually react to them. It gives some great tips about what to avoid if you want to be a good communicator (watch out for distractions and not being focused!) and what to do if you want to be an efficient communicator (think about active listening and appropriate time to ask a question). It also includes a very helpful chapter entirely focused on how to develop and use charisma in life in order to be a successful person and a communicator. It covers all-important aspects of interpersonal communication including body language, face expression and timing of your stories. And obviously, self-confidence and positive outlook of life is very important too!

Strong "how to" guide that really hits the spot.
What did you like most about Communication Skills?
I liked the clarity with which Ace McCloud approached the subject, and the comprehensive nature of his guide. I found the suggestions for striking up a conversation both interesting and plausible.
What other book might you compare Communication Skills to, and why?
This audio book is typical of all that I have listened to from this author/narrator combination; jam packed full of useful and accessible information, which is presented in a fluid, interesting style. The duo certainly have their own communication skills up to speed!
What about Joshua Mackey’s performance did you like?
I thoroughly enjoyed the parts where Joshua was speaking about different styles of talking, and using different voices to mirror the words. A quality narrator.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Talk like you've never talked before; listen as though your life depended on it; and laugh like it's contagious!
Any additional comments?
A good, solid guide to speaking, listening, laughing, body language, persuasion, and starting a conversation with confidence. A must for anyone who feels self conscious or ill equipt when communicating.

Job-Market Applicable!
If you could sum up Communication Skills in three words, what would they be?
Dynamic. Useful. Engaging.
What other book might you compare Communication Skills to, and why?
Another good book by the same author that is related to it and therefore in a way comparable is 'Motivation'.
What about Joshua Mackey’s performance did you like?
The narrator's voice on a whole, was easy to listen to which made the process of listening to the book more enjoyable - there are some cases (not with any books from this author!) where the story might be enthralling but the voice of the narrator is nothing but a turn off.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No.

Great Advice For More Effective Communication
What made the experience of listening to Communication Skills the most enjoyable?
When listening to an audiobook on this topic, you are obviously going to be very keen to hear exactly how well the content is communicated. Maybe even a little too ready to criticise they actual communication.
However, there was no reason to be disappointed. Ace McCloud does a great job of clearly setting out his subject and he comprehensively covers all the areas you might be interested in. Not only was the background on the subject fascinating, there was a lot of practical advice that you can use straight away.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Communication Skills?
I really enjoyed the sections that covered areas such as laughter, the language of rhetoric and how to use your body and posture to effect your communication. For someone who feels very self-conscious when public speaking, this advice was invaluable.
Which character – as performed by Joshua Mackey – was your favourite?
For a book about communication it is essential to have a great communicator as a narrator. Luckily, Joshua Mackey does a great job and really gets across the message of the book effectively. He is very adept at using his voice to put across a point and there were some parts which demonstrated why a book like this is always better in audio than on the page.
Any additional comments?
Everyone would like to be a more confident and effective communicator and most likely everyone has also found that they have not put their point across as well we they had wished. So, the advice in this book was not only well-presented but invaluable.
