Absolutely amazing series!

This whole series of books has been amazing! I have often ended up sleeping only at dawn, as had kept listening to just one more chapter lol, because it was so addictive! Each book just got better and the writing was descriptive and beautiful. It even made me cry in places.

The narrator was actually extremely good and bought each character to life. The occasional pronunciation of a word did grate a little, for example, passage was parsarge and fete was fet, but this was forgivable as she did so well overall.

I can not recommend these books enough, they were worth every penny and will not disappoint. I only hope that another book is written to tell us all the story of the last character in the epilogue!! Please!!

narration

After the 4th book I was used to the narration. However, I don't understand how she got the most simple things so wrong. Otherwise, a good plot

Great plot shame about the narrator

The plot was really gripping. Half way through the first novel I was tempted to stop listening as the narrators fake British accent irritated me so much! She would occasionally slip back into an American accent and pronounce words wrong. Glad I kept listening though as the plot was great

Terrible narration

How on earth did this narrator get chosen when she can’t hang onto an accent for 2 seconds! She lurches from supposedly high class British (though her words are mis pronounced) to Indian, Welsh and Brummy and back again! Since when was Surrey pronounced Surhey! Spoilt what was a good story.

Fantastical time travelling series

I loved everything from book one chapter one to book five last chapter of this wonderful fantastic storyline. Very realistic including all the terrible truths and hardships of life and realities of living in the 17th century. Best book series I've heard in all my years of listening with audible. Well done Irina shapiro for your research and imagination and well done Eva kaminsky for wonderful interpretation.

Enjoyable listen

I really enjoyed all of the books in this series, the comparison of the 1860's to 2013 .... was interesting. The story was well written and kept my interest throughout.
my only slight gripe was with the narration, The pronunciation of words with O sounds was slightly annoying after a while, but other than that, an enjoyable listen.
