Publisher's Summary

This is Limmy's second book. It's a whole load of new, odd and hilariously grim short stories.

Tom is in a soft play with his daughters. He's bored. He's so bored he can move things with his mind.

A man fills up a mate's biscuit tin without ever telling him, to see what happens.

Maggie's boyfriend, Iain, bought a curtain. It keeps attacking them. She wants it out of the house.

A man is sitting in his wheelie bin at two in the morning, and he wants to tell you why.

Kenny's mate Scott is suicidal and ridden with guilt. Kenny takes him on holiday to Benidorm. It'll be some laugh.

What the Critics Say

Praise for the author:
"Daft Wee Stories will sate Limmy's existing fans and proves once again that his wickedly anarchic sensibility moves effortlessly between media." (Chortle)
"Disturbing yet very, very funny, it's a shocking, scathing delight." (The Sun)
"So good they'll make you snot yourself laughing." (Scotland on Sunday)
"The comedy book of the year." (Time Out)
"The tales he treats us to are indeed both daft and wee; happily, they're funny, peculiar and original, too." (Guardian)

    "I love Limmy... I didn't LOVE this..."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure, because I have other Limmy fan friends.

If you’ve listened to books by Limmy before, how does this one compare?

I thought the stories in his previous book were funnier, what's the point in writing a story that doesn't make sense if it's not funny? Quite a few of the ones here just weren't funny.

What does Limmy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

His voice and pronunciation, saying it how it was supposed to be said.

    Any additional comments?

Though I didn't LOVE this, I did like it and I do love the printed version that he signed for me. I'm a big Limmy fan and will continue to be.

    "A good follow up"
Where does That's Your Lot rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Comedy-wise it was good.

What was one of the most memorable moments of That's Your Lot?

The final story was my favourite but it would be unfair to give away plot lines.

What does Limmy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Definitely the accent. I categorise this alongside the Alan Partridge and Steven Toast audiobooks in the sense that it really has to be in the characters voice, especially when it comes to sound effects.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Listened across two days but likely would have listened in one if I hadn't started it so late the day before. Saying which, with all of the paranoid inner monologue and surrealism, perhaps I was better spreading it out like I did.

    "Hit and miss... mainly miss."

I love Limmy - his show and twitter - but sadly didn't love the book.

Some astute observations of awkwardness and paranoia, and some interesting story ideas, but not enough to sustain a full book.

Best laughs came from the narration, but too many stories came and went without giving anything more than a snapshot of an odd (or oddly mundane) scenario.

    "No daft wee stories here"

Very disappointed with this after loving Daft Wee Stories, this fell at every hurdle. I didn't laugh once, wasn't shocked once, and wasn't interested at any point. Have never listened to an audiobook and remained completely checked out from start to finish. It's a book of nothing, with nothing interesting to say.

This isn't an indictment of Limmy, himself, because if there's one thing he does consistently is being the most hit and miss comedian out there. When he's good, he's phenomenal, and when he is bad, he is utter rubbish.

This is pretty much just utter rubbish.

"Some funny, sad and dark short stories."

awesome narration by the author, great that they are so short and consumable at mainly around 10-15mins each.

    "That Limmy's pure mental."

It's not as good as his last book but his stories are mad. I like the story about the curtain. Mental.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would absolutely recommend this book to a friend! It is hilarious and limmy is obviously pure genius.

What did you like best about this story?

I think all of them are great so its a hard one to choose but if I had too I would say my favorite part is that its multiple stores combined and you never get bored. I have already listened 10 times or more.
