Gripping amateur detective
really enjoyed this book, starts off strong and straight into the story. Following our amateur detective as he works he’s way through the story. With the subtle hints of is this supernatural or not?
One of those books that you recommend to people (as I have to a few now) Just so you can discuss it with them, too good a book to keep to yourself

Good but missing something...
I bought this audiobook in August and I've only just finished it in November. It's a good book but it's missing something that makes you not stop listening.
I felt like the storyline was a bit up and down. When it was down it lost my interest and I would listen to a different book, hence why it's taken me so long to finish!

Clever plot, but predictable.
The overall story plot was actually really good, and hints at the potential of being 5 start, but is executed poorly. As soon as the wife died, the main gist of the plot was given away, so the attempts at the twists were too predictable, making the suspense building poor. Many parts were repetitive which made it tedious to listen to. The main character was weak, not much of a back story or character development!

Brilliant from start to finish
Sometimes audiobooks can take me weeks to listen to, especially if I lose interest. This one kept me going and up late as I listened within a week over Christmas and New Year. Suspenseful and creepy in places. Very highly recommended.

Brilliant from top to bottom
Brilliant story, exquisite prose, and superb performance. This is a creepy serial killer story with wisps of the supernatural and the uncanny that add to the mystery and creepiness. This is a crime thriller working outside of the humdrum formula of most. A must read.
