Summary

The number one best seller read by Christopher Eccleston, star of Dr Who

Preston Oldcorn lay quite still, eyes tight shut, trying to shrug off the cold grip of the nightmare....

It was 9:22 p.m. It was always 9:22 p.m. A cold hand plunged into Preston’s chest and tightened its icy grip around his heart. In an instant, Preston was dead....

Soon he finds himself in a desolate void between life and death. Preston must stay one step ahead of his terrifying enemies in a desperate bid to save his soul. He must brave his greatest fear - Cold Bath Street.

A Gothic thriller - think Hunger Games crossed with Artemis Fowl - that will keep you gripped to the end. Includes an afterword read by the author.

Cold Bath Street is thrilling and deeply moving. I loved the originality of its premise. Just wonderful!” (Christopher Eccleston, internationally acclaimed actor)

Great story, from my home city.

Entertaining story, with lots of interesting points and references to places in Preston. A little disappointing that the author chose the name Preston as the first name of the main character. And the surname Oldcorn; where the heck did that come from? It just detracts from the believability of the story and I almost stopped listening in Chapter 1; I am the same age as AJ Hartley, growing up in Fulwood, and was a scout at English Martyrs.

Christopher Eccleston should have been told how to pronounce Grimsargh, as Grim-zer.

I suppose the book would have some illustrations, which might have been a bonus, but well worth listening to.

An absolutely beautiful tribute to Preston

I can’t begin to describe the delight I experienced listening to this audio adaptation of CBS. Being from Preston myself, I related and recognised every location mentioned.

The tales of the Bannister Doll and Miley Tunnel are famous amongst Prestonians old and young. Andrew has done an amazing job fictionalising a non fictional story.

I was truely emotional toward the end of the story and am thankful to the Author for providing me with the story that I will recommend to people for years to come.

A-Z of Preston streets

This book wastes far too much time listing the names of streets in Preston at the expense of the story. Became incredibly tedious after a while with no real value.
