Found it pretty good

If you want to learn more about CBT so this guide will help you must. I found this book to be enjoyable. It gave me different aspects to think about in regards to mental health.

Impressive ideas!

I'm impressed with this guide. I suffer from anxiety and stress, and since becoming a parent, I have dealt with intrusive thoughts and self-doubt. This book is a blueprint to learning a more positive and healthy way to deal with these thoughts. Thankful!!

Changed my life!

It explains how you can conquer depression and anxiety by using specific tools to help you control your thoughts. I love the audiobook in the back and the recap with each chapter. It helped me with my note-taking, and it's beneficial to flip back to when I get side-tracked. Recommended!

Knowledgeable audible

This was an extremely informative book. I enjoyed how easy it was to listen, with only the occasional word that I had to look up. I love how easy it is to follow the steps. I wasn't very knowledgeable in the subject of self-copying/depression itself until I listen to this book. Now I know how to adequately take care of my brain when it comes to dealing with my depression. An overall great book with lots of information. Give it a try!

Get me to the positive life

I myself am guilty of constant negative thinking which doesn't help with anxiety and leads to depression. This book is a great way to start changing that. Very easy to listen and follow. Even gives a layout at the end to start documenting your thoughts and actions needed to change your way of thinking to have a more positive life.

Amazing discovery!

This book made me realize how much easier it can be to take charge of anxiety and it's symptoms than I had originally thought. The explanation of how you can completely change your thought process when dealing with anxiety is an amazing discovery. I have learned how to face my negative thoughts, and realize that they are not what is actually happening around me. The method of sitting with your thoughts and letting them take their course so you can think about them rationally has what's helped me the most, realizing that just because I am thinking these thoughts doesn't necessarily mean they're true. I have suffered my whole life with crippling anxiety and depression. My son has also inherited these mental issues from me. So many times people who explain this explain from a clinical point of view. This book made me feel like the author really understood how it feels to fight with yourself and your emotions day after day. I have only begun to follow his advice and am already seeing a change in myself. I can not wait to initiate these same steps with my son once I myself am better at doing them. This book could change my life and hopefully save my son many years of pain and heartache.

Straightforward

This simple, straightforward quote put the rest of the book in perspective. The book is broken down into seven main sections and each section has multiple subsections that allow you to absorb the information in bite-size pieces. To be quite honest, I wish more books on topics like this were structured the same way.

Quick listen!

I like that it starts with a warning that CBT isn't helpful for everyone/everything and warns people to stop if there are negative effects. The chapters are relatively short and quick to listen. I like the idea of a journal and that your goals should be very personal. The author includes a wide range of options for handling intrusive thoughts, including acceptance and medication. The author included bits of information about how different religions can support CBT. Overall, a nice introduction to get people thinking about CBT.

Gives great insights

This book gives insight without making it so complex that it's not understandable. Breaking down is a way of breathing through stereotypes and mental health myths. Kudos to the author for putting this together. I would suggest this be used in psychology classes across the US. Mental health is such a huge issue in the general population and this highlights ways to cope and also ways to diagnose. Not everything is always so black and white when it comes to the mind.

Beneficial!!

The layout of the book made it an easy read, and perfect for an ongoing reference. The information presented can improve the quality of life for anyone who reads and applies the information. I found the section on "Managing Everyday Stress" extremely helpful in identifying stressors, and then learning how to create a strategy that reduces it.

Gives great suggestions

I really like this book and the suggestions it gives in helping you to change your mindset. I suffer from severe anxiety and listening this has given me a few different ideas and techniques in helping me to identify my obstacles, take better control of my thoughts, and be successful in taking back control over my life. I think the workbook portion is a huge bonus too because it truly helped me in identifying issues that were contributing factors that I hadn't even considered before.

Must listen

Coming into this book from the perspective of having Anxiety disorder and Bipolar disorder with a lot of intrusive thoughts, I was worried that my brain would "get in the way" of the work. I sat down and read it through, really trying to focus on it in a learning way, before doing the actual workbook aspect- so that it sunk in better. I found it easy to understand and straight forward. I will be going back and doing a much closer listen and spending some time on the lessons to get the most out of this book and the skills presented.

Very insightful

I find this book insightful. Not many people understand depression or other mental conditions. For people who suffer these conditions, it is hard to find ways to cope. I myself deal with anxiety and stress. I do not know how to manage my thoughts and feelings well. This book really helps for people like me who are seeking help. It is about time to have a book that truly understands and explains the importance of careful and mindful thinking.

Provides great techniques

The techniques described in this book are very natural. Basically, it aims to train the listener on different ways and techniques to redirect our thinking to more positive and constructive habits. By identifying problems, setting goals and overcoming obstacles cognitive behavioral science can benefit nearly everyone. The book teaches you to challenge your thoughts and beliefs, and how to act on ways that are congruent with your new thought patterns. The book had plenty of beautiful examples to help guide the listener through difficult concepts. I noticed a couple of misspelled words, but they didn't disrupt the flow of the book. Overall I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to all.

Powerful listen!

I think that anyone looking for ways to better connect with their communities or for those that just feel a deep longing for something new and undiscovered will get something from this book.take on the diferent levels of religion, spirituality, and astrology is refreshingly new and simple - and relative to people with many disorders and/or fears. While I do not think this book is a cure, it's nice to be reminded that we are all connected in many different ways and it's a great entryway for us to open up our minds that the human brain is much more powerful than we realize when it comes to things we fear we cannot change.

Got some great suggestions

CBT is good to know if you suffer anxiety, especially if you don't want to take medications, or your medications aren't really working. I have always heart of people talking about cognitive behavioral therapy, but I never knew exactly what it was, so this book really helped me understand more about it. I'd say it is well describe and easy to understand, and it gives some suggestions on how to go about retraining your mind. Though this book didn't specifically suggest this, I am planning to incorporate Bible verse memorization and scripture meditation as a strategy. It has other ideas in it that I personally wouldn't use, but you can really use anything you like to retrain your brain. Anything that motivates, uplifts, and inspires. This book has helped me to understand more about CBT, and I plan on exploring and looking more into it.

Very motivational!

This is nice and it helps sort out your feelings keeps you thinking and motivated to complete things and keeps me going in the direction I need to be in. Pacing yourself is key and the follow through on your part is as well. Good book if you can commit yourself to some self love.
