Helpful

I used it in conjunction with the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies Workbook. This book explains things in layman's terms so you don't have to have a Psychology degree to understand what to do and why you are doing it.

Excellent

I am familiar with CBT found this book to be a good manual very usefull and quick reference in those moments when you are a "dammy" needing to refresh general concepts or even to catch creative ideas in the aplication of CBT in real life cases and even day to day circumstances.

Must need

This book is well written and covers its material well, it limits itself to only a couple of the applications of CBT theory. Its utility is limited but would be a useful beginning point for the layman.

One of the Best Book

Real good start on understanding the basic concept of C.B.T. This C.D. also gives plenty to talk about with your friends as well as food for thought.

Great

I've always believed that changing your thinking can change your life. And CBT fits right into that. This book has practical ways of helping you change your thinking, like checklists, etc. Although it should probably be considered just a "starting point" for CBT

Wonderful

I had to think about how to gear the steps and list to a child, but it helped me isolate his compulsions and teach him to rethink positively. I would like to find a self-help book for children though. This book has also assisted me in realizing that I suffer from an anxiety problem myself.

Great resource

A detailed and informative book to help you understand the nature of behavior and how to adapt and change it. A good resource for counselors or survivors of abuse with subsequent behavioral issues.

Interesting Audio book

I learned so much from this book and it is written so you can do exercises and work your way up in CBT. also it tells you about the different types, how they work, etc. I used to always be rules by my ever changing emotions and by intrusive thoughts. But I can get away from that now most times.

Great

I never expected a psychology book to be so well done as this book, in a Dummies series. This book is clear, precise, and easy to understand & use.It is helpful for professionals and neophytes. I am both, having a degree in psych but never having used Cognitive Therapy. I highly recommend this book and its companion theory book.
